Keep city works safe by not letting this continue any longer. I have seen to many works in jury's because of having to clean up these huge projects.

Parks and open space were not acquired and never intended to be campgrounds.

Defer Council Bill 118794. The homeless belong in homes like Plymouth Housing and mental health facilities.. We need more solutions for the homeless families..

This is unacceptable and not safe for anyone. Not for our children, not for those displaced persons. It's irresponsible and a health hazard.

Something else needs to be done with the homeless population. Something with permanent housing and rules regarding drug use. We need something more than just encampments at every corner and filling all public spaces.

Do not legalize tent camping in Seattle public parks and green belts. This would be a disaster for the city of Seattle residents.

Please do not allow this camping as it will attract more homeless to the park next to our home. Our house and cars have been broken into numerous times and we worry about the safety of our children.

This is absurd!! I am a compassionate person but I feel this ordinance will make our parks and other public places unsafe for our children to play and unsanitary for our environment. We do not need our children and pets to be finding and stepping on human wastes, hypodermic needles and syringes. We should figure out other options for our homeless individuals and families to safely sleep at night. How about provide more homeless shelters? Have more programs to help them find work?? If not, How about having them camp out at churches parking lots and be gone by mornings? Provide port-o-potties for them to use and trash cans to properly dispose of all trash. Provide cleaning drinking water fountains around town.

We need a solution for homelessness that actually puts people into homes and treatment.

Open the homes, yards, and driveways of those council in favor of this action to the homeless for three months and then cast their votes.

I am very concerned that the good intentions of this ordinance will be very detrimental to our parks. Most people who visit Seattle parks on a regular basis can readily provide examples of how our parks and greenbelts in the city are already significantly impacted by encampments in areas not designated for that use. Seattle does need to do more for the homeless and improve support services for many of the root causes of homelessness (mental illness, substance abuse, & education gaps). However, rolling out the welcome mat in the parks and greenbelts will only make this problem worse.
If the City council wishes to address homelessness then they should enact legislation that provides locations and funding that are meant to house people with appropriate infrastructure (minimally garbage & bathroom facilities), and include access to social services that will help break the cycle that has led many people to become homeless.
