No No No. Our family has compassion for this problem, and we are committed to solving it for the individuals and Seattle, but allowing camping in our parks is NOT the answer.

I've seen the mess the homeless leave behind them, everywhere they go. They will trash our parks, leave them littered with garbage, used needles and other hazardous items. Why should law abiding, tax paying citizens have to put up with this in our city?

I vote NO.

I paid for the parks through several initiatives, nevermind taxes. I use them, and want to continue to, without feeling unsafe! I'd happily vote for an initiative to get these people permanent housing.

Fund more services or we will pay more ER and police manpower. Vets need more programs, and better access to psych services. Thank you.

There is no way this will solve ANY homeless problem. Please come up with VIABLE options.

This plan is irresponsible and unsafe for our communities, especially for our children that play in these public parks.

Mental illness and drug addiction needs to be addressed and putting them in Seattle Parks where our children play is ludicrous. There are better options.

How can SCC seriously think this is any kind of solution?

Yes, I want to help homeless people but not by allowing camping in city parks! I saw camps set up next to a kids' soccer game off 50th in the U district. The kids were preschool age. The tents were a few feet away from the game. What are legislators thinking? Thanks, Tim Burgess, for standing up for the rights of our kids and community members who want to safely enjoy our parks.

City of Seattle needs to do something, but this is not the solution.

I for one do not agree with this! Why don't you take the Jungle and clean it up and put little micro houses in there instead of flooding areas where tax abiding citizens pay to have clean parks for our children. I would rather pay money to have several garbage cans/dumpsters in areas under bridges and or out in the jungle than see beautiful parks get destroyed.

We have 2 little boys that love going to all of our local parks. Please help us keep our parks clean and safe!

This is a ridiculous proposal. Our parks are our safe havens where we go to decompress, relax, recreate, and unwind. We need our parks to be safe havens for children, families as well as adults, and the green spaces should managed so that we can enjoy the beauty of a natural, uncluttered, and litter-free landscape. Our Seattle parks and surrounding green spaces are our escape from the stresses of city life and are special sanctuaries we can go to in order to unwind at the end of a long, hard workday or workweek. Seriously, folks.

Stop this measure and listen to Tim You've already asked for and gotten increased tax dollars for homeless support. Our kids need to have safe places to play in our parks This is not the answer -it'll only make things worse for everyone!

Camping in public parks is a terrible idea. It takes space that is available for all of us to use, and allows only limited, high-impact usage.

Cmon, really! In our parks?

I care about people. I want to help people. But turning our public parks, where we take our young children, into public homeless shelters is not safe. These people need a place to live, they have needs to be met. But you can't possibly think this is the best solution. For the safety of the greater population, for the safety of our children, please find another solution to helping the homeless. Just because it's an easy solution, doesn't make it the right one.

This is not the solution. This is insane.
