You have to be 1000 feet from a school or park to sell weed which is legal. You can shoot heroin next door and can't be moved.

Keep our parks the safe, clean places of natural beauty they are meant to be for everyone, including children and families.

Yes. Homeless people need a place to stay but this is not the answer.

Long time city resident. Taxpaying homeowner and regular user of the parks. The cities actions toward allowing the vagrants to occupy city spaces has got to stop. The tent dwellers are not homeless, per se. They are not interested in solutions. Real people affected by homelessness would gladly accept an out, a hand up. The constant theft by the vagrants is a real problem and needs to be responded to in a real manner.

The parks are for everybody to enjoy, don't let a few people ruin them for everybody. The rules clearly state no overnight camping.

This is such a huge mistake. I just voted for the homeless initiative to help those in need. But I want safe and clean parks to take my grandkids to and for myself to feel safe in. This goes way to far.

It is time to protect the rights of tax paying citizens of Seattle. The runaway, left wing agenda of City Hall has run its ineffectual course for long enough.

A better solution is needed to support families in need and the homeless.

While I appreciate the intent of the bill, this is the wrong solution.

Letting the homeless population take over the one piece of community building opportunity this over crowded city has is not the answer. Putting our children in danger, of not just violence, but trash, drug 'left overs', feces, and other issues this raises is just bonkers! Why is this even up for discussion!!!!

I am concerned to permit people to camp in our parks. It can create unsafe conditions for my family and for the wildlife who rightfully need the unique undisturbed habitat in our parks. The wildlife are already running out of sufficient acres of proper habitat because construction is carving up their access to enough contiguous undisturbed habitat to feed and raise young.
I live across the street from Carkeek Park, and we feel unsafe to walk alone in the woods already. We conduct valuable monthly bird censuses, and we have to schedule our early morning citizen science when it is safe for us to walk in the woods on trails.
If camping was permitted in Carkeek, this potential threat will become greater.

Let's not repeat Portland's mistakes. This is not a viable solution for our homelessness problems.

Portland tried the same experiment and abandoned it after 6 months. See article by Danny Westneat, Seattle Times. Oct7 or 8.
