I will vote against any Seattle City Council member who votes yes on this

Liberal nonsense, as per usual in Seattle. Let's spend more tax dollars on something that won't work.

Tax payers support and pay for our parks and voted into effect the Seattle Parks District. You can be guaranteed we did intend these parks, OUR parks to be used as filth and drug ridden encampments. Has the council even considered how this will greatly increase Seattle's homeless population once word gets out. This is so fantastically irresponsible and poorly thought out it's unbelievable.

I would like for the city to consider all the potential housing located at Magnuson Park, formally barracks and officers quarters. These people should all be in homes not tents or cars.

I do not want homeless people camping in Seattle parks. If this bill passes, you can kiss your political careers goodbye, SCC

I work 60 hours a week and STRUGGLE to pay rent. rents are continuing to go up. Much of my money goes to taxes.. this is insane. Some of the only nice things about Seattle are its parks and waterfronts. You have tried to give the waterfronts to the RV's of homeless, and now our parks? You guys must be drunk. I realize you have an amazing amount of sympathy for these people... but what about just doing the right thing and following common sense.. how about looking out for the people who do work 60 hours a week to be able to live here... when do you start finally thinking about us.

Seattle has become an unsafe human sespool in the matter of 3 years. I couldn't believe it when I used the I90 east on ramp from Rainer tonight. Piles of garbage on both sides with people setting up makeshift tents. Not safe for anyone!

I would recommend they stop this legislation all together.

Come on Seattle. We can do better than this. Our greenbelts and parks will no longer be that. Have you seen the amount of trash that is created by these encampments? Let's be more creative than this.

Let's create long term solutions rather than encourage rampant misuse of public spaces.

No to homeless encampments in parks and public places. Find other solutions. We cannot pay huge taxes for property and transit to then experience trash and disrespect of our public spaces. There are other options!!!

There will be a major backlash against the naïve and ill-advised actions of our elected officials. It is a logical and probably the right response to politicians run amok. Sadly the homeless will suffer because people who are now open minded will become more polarized. The fact is that most people are compassionate, but would not allow a homeless person to inhabit their basement. Now the officials with whom we have entrusted our common assets have sua sponte decided to give them away. They have decided that certain laws should not be enforced which is not a level of discretion we have granted. I sadly predict further demonization of the homeless and gladly predict a recall of our City Council.

Homeless persons along with drug paraphernalia and garbage do not belong in our parks where children and pets frequent. Recipe for disaster. Just look at the "Jungle", totally disgusting and not park friendly. Ugh

This is not safe for our children or our city. And it is not in the best interest of our homeless.

They keep spending more and it keeps getting worse. The last 2 mayors of Seattle have had foolish policy

What are you guys thinking?.... our parks are for the people who pay the taxes of the city of Seattle. We need to finally find safe areas with facilities, power, toilet, showers, cooking and garbage for those who cannot afford standard housing because the American Dream has blown up away from the 99%. The one percent have more square footage and use up more utilitiy resources in their mansions than all of our homeless brothers and sisters combined. Have the rich open their properties to house the homeless.

Our city has turned into a dumping ground for homeless and allowed them to camp all over this city leaving it filled with trash and drugs. Most of these people are capable of working but have chosen to live on the streets. Our city counsel should be embarrassed and ashamed. By now allowing them to live in our parks is just asking for more problems, more drugs and more trash let alone the fact that the rest of us that pay taxes and contribute to society willnot even feel safe having our children go to the park or walk down the street. What has happened to what was once a beautiful city? . Just look at San Francisco.

This action would effectively deprive city residents of the benefits from the parks levy we voted for two years ago.

The parks were not intended for camping. As a seattle resident and taxpayer,, i would like to use these parks without threat , nor seeing the ground degridated by human habitation.
