Parks are for everyone's use without any threats. They are NOT for campers, homeless or not. I don't want my tax money to be used in this way as it poses a public safety problem. Please do not allow this to happen.

As a tax payer and property owner in the City of Seattle, I strongly oppose Council Bill 118794. This is not a viable solution to the problem of homelessness.

This is such a bad idea allowing our public park in be camp grounds. Very unsafe for our kids as well.

As a lifetime Seattlite and father of a seventh generation Washingtonian, this plan misses the mark incredibly. Part of what makes Seattle unique is the preserved and safe green space in our city. There is a reason these large public parks have stayed PUBLIC. Why are the council members trying to take away the land of the tax payers? Are the police who's resources already razor thin expected to patrol these areas? What about the feces and needles? We expect Parks Department to be 'housekeeping' for all these Tent Cities? What about the backlash the homeless population might feel from the resentment of the uninformed citizenry? If this passes, i believe it will be an awful two years but will mobilize the voting population like never before and we can replace the entire council (but Burgess)

This is not a solution. We must address the root of the problem.

I am a forest steward and volunteer time in my local park regularly. This legislation does not balance the needs of all Seattle residents in regard to safe and enjoyable use of our parks. We should learn from the failure of Portland's experiment rather than repeat it.

Look to Portland - they tried this and it was a disaster. Don't repeat their mistake. and quit wasting money on irresponsible and ineffective measures.

My toddler already has picked up a needle cap in a parking lot near a playground. We need to protect public spaces for our children instead of sacrificing public health and safety.

No camping in parks or sidewalks. Let's get some kind of housing

This is a terrible idea - it failed in Portland and will fail here-

I can't believe this issue has come this far! Stop the insanity and start helping these people by putting them in housing/rehab instead of wasting money on continually cleaning the filth strewn over our city. Obviously, not addressing the issue will only make matters worse for both the homeless and the citizens city of Seattle.

I think we need to address the issue of homelessnes. But, a free for all is not the way to address the needs of our homeless population. Portland, Oregon tried this and it was a sad failure.

Please keep our parks safe and crime free. Letting homeless people "squat" in our beloved public spaces will be a disaster.

This isn't the right solution. We bring our children to parks - it isn't a safe solution.

We have absolutely gone around the bend on this issue. NO to camping in our parks. Set up more sanctioned sites until housing can be built or obtained.

Please do not allow camping in public parks. This will not help campers or our tax paying citizens and businesses. You will drive out businesses and residents to live somewhere else that it is safer. Please don't do this.

Parks designated use is for the public enjoyment and or shelter in but only in catastrophic emergencies. Designating them for drop-in camping will create innumerable problems I am certain there will be a resident revolt. There must be a better alternative. Please rethink this insane proposal.

This is the worst possible way to address our homeless situation, and has been shown to be completely ineffective in other cities that have tried it. Furthermore, it would create a horrible, unsafe environment in our parks and public spaces.

Did it work in Portland? Let the people vote if you cannot understand the ramifications of such a move.
