These people need real help and real homes...not a free pass to camp wherever they please. This is not the solution - this is not safe for our neighborhoods!

This is not a solution to the homeless problem; this is not the way I want my tax money to be used. I'm ready to vote you all out (except Burgess) of office.

My children play at the parks. I don't want them to see this type of living in our communities. These people need professional help and giving them money is not a permanent solution they need a long term plan on how to live every day to every week to every month to every year. Keep parks free to the people and a free space to all not just homeless.

I am in no way advocating for the criminalization of homelessness as I have heard individuals accuse those questioning the parks/camping plan... but rather demanding a more sustainable solution including temp housing, treatment facilities and other safety net programs to assist displaced families quickly before situations worsen. Simply opening up the parks without any other viable plan to address the underlying causes is indicative of a vacuum of ideas and leadership. I expect more than a shoulder shrug out of those responsible for determining the options available and the way forward. This is not a long term solution that will actually help people beyond shuffling large groups into areas that will unfortunately harbor the same risks we're trying to alleviate. I urge the council to dig in, step up, and actually propose a strategy and not this seemingly sad act of last resort and inaction.

This is not a solution or even a Band-Aid to the homelessness issue. I would suggest the council members who think to vote yes and ACLU and homeless activists who think this is a solution, come visit our neighborhoods and see what is happening now. This bill would only increase the problem, not provide a solution for anyone, including the homeless.

This is not a viable solution for dealing with homelessness in our city.

I am totally in favor of this petition and to stopping this Bill immediately. This has no elements in its favor and huge amounts of known and unknown risks. Stop this bill now!!!!!

The homelessness situation in Seattle is beyond out of control, but this is not a safe or sane solution for our communities

The elephant in the room is why there is such a homeless problem in the first place!

I strongly oppose the proposal to make Seattle parks and green spaces homeless camps. This is NOT an answer to the real problem - it will only deteriorate our neighborhoods and parks and expand homelessness.

Given what has already been said (and I read much of it) I find myself asking: Is this the reward for moving away from General to District Council Membership? Have the Council members descended into madness?

Allowing homeless to camp in our parks is not a smart solution.

I have lived in Seattle for 40 years and have never seen anything like this homeless bill. It has an Alice-in-Wonderland quality which makes your head spin.

Please don't ruin this city with a disastrous plan - we will move after our entire lives here. Portland is a complete mess with needles everywhere! The same will happen here!

I'm so tired of the city putting a band aid on this issue and putting homeless and non homeless citizens in jeopardy.

I am shocked this bill was ever written. This bill does nothing to help the homeless people
Just make the situation worse and destroy our beautiful green spaces in Seattle!
