PLEASE DON'T DO THIS TO OUR PARKS---OUR CHILDREN WILL NO LONGER HAVE A SAFE PLACE TO PLAY AND I WILL NO LONGER WANT TO SPEND MY TIME OUTSIDE AT PUBLIC PARKS.

Please stop this legislation. Don't turn our city into a magnet for the homeless. Learn from what just happened in Portland. Focus on helping them instead.

Dear Seattle City Council.
You are not representing me or my neighbors or my friends or relatives or local businesses in my area.
Who wrote this legislation?
Who is lobbying for this legislation?
Please wake up and become stateswomen and men. Think about the next generation.

Parks are safe places for kids, sports, dogs, and the neighborhood community. NOT trash, feces, drugs, and used needles. Find a dedicated tent city away from community gathering places.

there has to be a better way to address the problem of homelessness than turning the city into one vast homeless camp with the attendant issues of safety, health and other concerns

I live in the Magnolia neighborhood and have a green belt on either side of my home.

We have an ongoing homeless emergency; with the wealth in this area surely we can do better than throwing up our hands and surrendering our public parks to homeless who are either extremely vulnerable or drug addicted, or both. These people need real shelter, light, heat and security. An unused warehouse would be a much better stopgap.

Why not help the homeless? They could have been your neighbor in the past and lost their home they are still as human as before. Strongly disagree with this petition, it does not bring solution and is inhumane. "Love your neighbor as yourself".

Lots of little kids use these Seattle parks day in and day out. They are what makes Seattle such a special place to live. I've already had an experience where two homeless men were drinking and smoking pot right on the play structure of a small Montlake/Arboretum playground called "the tot lot." The is a terrible, TERRIBLE idea!

Have you all lost your minds? Our parks are for everyone 's enjoyment and use, as are our sidewalks and roadways. STOP allowing them to be co-opted by people who are homeless (for any reason ). If you want to help them, look into helping solve the cause of their homelessness. In the interim, stop killing our city! Why would anyone choose to live here, build here, or operate a business here when all of our "public" spaces have become menacing, filthy, and dangerous. You, City Council and Mr Mayor, are turning our city into a Johannesburg shanty-town. Shame on all of you.

This is dangerous. It is not an acceptable solution to our problem with homelessness.

I walk these parks daily, I have been in parks where they allowed homeless campers, and the garbage, the human feces, the used needles, and also aggressiveness from those that think we are invading "their" space is deplorable. Do not do this.

Please, please, please do not turn our parks and athletic fields into camping grounds. This is not the way to handle this issue. Start implementing the suggestions put forth by the group you commissioned to find solutions.
