Dear City Council Members, Please do not allow camping in our public parks and on sidewalks. It promotes unsafe conditions and does nothing to reduce homelessness. Instead focus on the recommendations in the Barbara Poppe report.

Opening up parks and public spaces to camping and living is an unforgivable band aid to address the homeless situation in our city and ignores addressing the complex needs that individuals have to rebuild their lives, find work and become healthy both emotionally, physically and mentally. Our city council members need to step up and offer our city a comprehensive vision that goes beyond this simplistic attempt to fix the problem.

CB118794 encourages the homeless to remain outside, where staying away from addiction and mental help is easier. It harms the homeless. A short-sighted approach, it simultaneously worsens the homeless problem and trashes the city. Please defer action on 118794 until adequate study is completed, and alternate plans can be discussed.

We pay taxes to enjoy our parks and do not want to feel threatened when we use them. This is _____!

This bill is completely irresponsible on the part of the Seattle City Council. I will vote for Mark Miloscia because he will offer oversight to these fools.

I have one on these unsantioned encampments nest to my work and I have seen nothing but increasing piles of gargage and perpetual conflict issues with the individuals there. Opening up new areas will not resolve any problems other than intensify the existing ones.

I hope the council reconsiders and finds a workable solution for the increasing rise in homelessness. The current proposal will not create safety for our homeless residents, especially those with children, and will create a deep divide and increased conflict between those who live in homes and those that do not. Please find a way to unite us and empower residents to help our homeless residents, not lash out with anger and frustration.

Folks without homes need to sleep indoors and be supported with services to help them rise out of homelessness. I urge the council to find a better solution to the homeless issues in our city.

Ugh, please no! The homeless are already encamped around the freeway, don't let them take over our parks as well!

Seattle has become a magnate for people who are homeless. We offer generous services that attracts people from all over. We are losing our city to this problem. People who are homeless should be forced into structured housing pending a more permanent solution. They should not be allowed to camp in tents around the city which, itself, is really inhumane. I do not intend to continue paying to support the homeless who are ruining our parks and creating unsafe conditions for the majority of the people who live here. If they come here, they MUST live in some kind of building/shelter--they cannot be allowed to camp in our parks and in Seattle's public spaces. Safety is paramount for everyone.

This is disgraceful, irresponsible, and frightening. One of the many tragic consequences of our city's criminally inept leadership.

Please allow time for a more thorough review of this plan and give the people the right to vote if they want this idea to go forward.

Public parks and sidewalks as relocation sites is insane. I would not be surprised if public schools were next on the list.

Portland has already gone through the painful process of proving this to be a poor idea. We can do better by the homeless. Keep working for a better solution.

This is a disaster. Homelessness is a serious issue that deserves serious solutions.
