Must put a end to this now, it invites more problems, many dangerous. This plan may have started with good intentions but was not well thought out. END IT NOW.

Really? Parks? Aren't they closed at night just to stop this from happening?

This bill is poorly thought out and it's true impact has not been thoroughly investigated. The affordable housing levy was recently doubled and spending on the homeless has increased 40% under Mayor Murray. If more needs to be done - fine, propose another levy, or a bill with more substantial and useful services. This bill turns Seattle parks (which have been generously supported by Seattle taxpayers over many years) into poorly and loosely regulated campgrounds.

Move to parks doesn't address the issue in the least, but it will introduce mental illness, prostitution and drug use into the neighborhood parks.

Q13Fox just did an interview with Mike O’Brien and basically the council is moving ahead with this provision. The mayor has said he will veto it but the Council has the two thirds majority to over-ride his veto, which is what they plan to do according to O'Brien.

The use of the parks is not a good long-term solution to homelessness.

Have you learned nothing from the Portland disaster when they tried then quickly abandoned the same foolish concept?!

The safety of our children who use these parks is at stake. We don't need needles and camp refuse being left behind to cause injury. Find a solution, don't create yet another problem.

Parks are not for housing the mentally ill, the addicted, and those down on their luck. They need to be persuaded or placed in some cases into rehab, mental health and other assistance programs to wnd their cycle of homelessness.

My husband and I have spent hours cleaning up & hauling 20 or more huge garbage bags full of beer cans and a lot worse from the park next to our home. This is not the solution to homelessness and it will ruin our parks and boulevards!

The solution to the problem of the homeless, addicted and mentally impaired is not to lower the quality of life of the entire citizenry.

This is a terrible idea - and it won't help anyone at all. Not the homeless, and certainly not the residents of Seattle.

Come up with a better, long term solution please.
