Crazy they put a housing levy on hardworking, law abiding citizens for park and rec then another for battling homelessness then just turn around and say "well ... let's just let them stay in the parks, hell, it's already paid for" ... strange isn't it?

This is appalling and embarrassing for the city of seattle

This is an unacceptable proposal. Already tried and failed in Portland. Supporters on the Council will be held accountable in the next election cycle.

I agree with the comment that the homeless are in need of assistance but this is not the solution.

Please abandon this plan to house the homeless in city parks and land. I voted for every parks levy and cannot imagine that they would be put tosuch use.

This is not the solution for Seattle. We are a compassionate city and we can find a better way to help these people without turning our public spaces into dangerous, toxic, dump sites. There are community centers that can be used for shelter, there are services that are not be fully utilized. I assure you that I will not vote for any city council member who supports this initiative. The Seattle City Council is ruining our city.

This concept has already been tried and it failed horribly. Do not do this to our city. There are better options.

It is unbelievable that this is a position supported by the City Council!

Keep our parks safe! No camping!

Per Danny Westneat's recent article in the Seattle Times, this homeless approach already massively failed in Portland. Can't we be smart and learn from their mistakes, rather than making the same mistake in Seattle? Thanks, Hugh Rogers

Please do not do this as it will endanger the general public in terms of safety and it wastes taxpayer money. Please enforce laws to get the people who have no interest in receiving help and little to no respect for others or our city. Please don't let freeloaders continue to take advantage of us.

I have had enough with this ultra liberal mayor. Seattle is unliveable and this is the straw that breaks the camel's back.

I would like to see an environmental impact studies as well as financial impact studies. I think both studies will show that this is an unfeasible, irresponsible bill that will destroy the environment and will require huge amounts of dollars to patrol the areas in question (5200 acres of parks!)

Impeach the city council for catering to interest groups and raising taxes!

This tent in parks and sidewalks policy will ruin our parks and streets where we have a right to travel and use safely. This is a ridiculous attempt to solve the real homeless issues in our city.

Please do not allow our Seattle Parks to be handed over to homeless centers.

As a resident whose hiuse is bordered by a Seattle Park and DOT rught of way, yhis policy concerns me greatly. I advocate finding creative ways to accommodate our homeless popukation, but without better limits, repurposing our parks and sidewalks is not appropriate.
