This is a wrong-headed approach to the homelessness issue. Please do not rush this through without further study and community input.

This city is a beautiful one, with many parks to enjoy. We do not pay taxes to keep up these parks for our enjoyment only to be littered with trash, fecal matter, drugs, etc. Camping sites are NOT the solution, and the tax payers of Seattle should not have to suffer for it.

Let's do the right thing for those in need. But let's not destroy our public places in the process...

We need to help the homeless off the street. Bill 118794 does the opposite.

This would lead to incredible safety concerns in our parks.

We have a greenbelt behind our elementary school that is eligible. Don't put our kids in (possible) jeopardy.

Must we make the same hare-brained bad choice that our sister city Portland made? Let's not, please.

While agreeing to the proposed legislation may ease our conscience it does nothing to solve the problem of homelessness. Three measures are necessary. The first is to stop evictions from taking place even if we have to help renters financially. The second is a massive infusion of money to build low cost housing.
And finally regulation of increases in rent should be instituted in order to maintain Seattle as a place for all income levels..

Seattle cannot allow non-organized encampments to dominate our tax-funded parks and greenbelts and I'll vote against any Council Member or Mayor who believes that this is truly the solution to our complicated problem.

Please don't do what has NOT worked in Portland. Please use some common sense and try things that have actually worked.

This is beyond dangerous. Do you want your child or grandchild playing in a park where the homeless sleep? I think not. Stop the madness please.

I have supported Parks funding and contributed to the park foundation because of my belief in the essential contribution parks make to our quality of life. It makes no sense to me that our Council might contemplate taking this precious resource to solve the homeless problem. I walk with groups on Tueday and Thursday that constantly use our parks for the respite from city life they provide. To use them to house the homeless completely ignores the vast majority of citizens, families, children who value the parks for what they are and have paid to keep and improve them. It is incumbent on the Council to find another way to address homelessness.

I do not want my children to have to deal with homeless people, trash and refuse when they want to use the parks that are paid for with my taxes.
