While I have sympathies for the homeless, I also want to be able to enjoy and live in this city that I am paying for. I am tired of paying taxes to clean up after people who are able bodied enough to do it themselves.

While I support new programs and support and respect for homeless individuals 30 days is too long of a time to allow transient camping on public ground....7 days is acceptable in my opinion

Why would we do something that just failed in Portland?! This is the craziest thing I have ever heard of and WILL fail. Please don't ruin our parks and neighborhoods that we pay good tax money to maintain. Doing this will just attract more homelessness and create an even bigger problem when it fails and needs to be unwound. We have enough petty theft in our neighborhoods that the police don't have time to deal with and this will only add to their load. I can't believe we even have to sign a petition to stop something like this from happening and that it is really being considered as acceptable.

Our parks and streets will become UNUSABLE if you proceed with Council Bill 118794. This bill will only make our parks and streets more UNSAFE for tax paying residents.

This is a really bad idea. Please do not allow our park space to be mis-used like this.

This is not a solution to the homeless problem and this is not at all what I want to city council members that I voted for or the mayor, that I voted for to approve. This is unacceptable.

We must find a solution to this problem and the homeless should be provided with places to live and sleep. But that solution must include access to services - toilets, showers, and protection. They also need access to food, and medical assistance. This Council Bill is not the answer!

As a woman I will feel unsafe using parks and green spaces to hike if people are camping in them. In addition, the trash generated will be hard to collect and be dangerous to children and wildlife.

This is not the answer. The "fix" would be to provide these homeless citizens with access to mental health care and treatment facilities for addiction.

Born in raised in the beautiful city of Seattle, it really upsets me the direction it is taking. This is a lose-lose for the hardworking people.

Parks and the many people, including children, would be overrun with violence, trash and drug use, I oppose the bill that would allow camping in parks.

This could be a disaster for the children who play in parks. Please, let's use common sense. The homeless need help, but should not be allowed to camp in our parks.

I don't support the proposal to open public space for camping by anyone regardless of their income.
Any counsel person who votes yes will not get re-elected
Vote yes

This is an outrage. I can't believe this is even sobering being considered. One of the reasons I love Seattle is for the local parks and natural areas where I can take my family and pets. I wish to help the homeless but this does just the opposite. It encourages homelessness rather than providing the resources and tools to get back on their feet. These are natural places and must remain natural for all to enjoy for years to come. If the homeless live there, they will no longer be natural, be clean or be safe! I can't believe this could be happening. I refuse to pay taxes to maintain parks I will no longer feel comfortable and safe using and I refuse to put my tax dollars toward a cause that perpetuates homelessness rather than solves for it. This cannot happen!

I have a child that attends summer camp in Lincoln Park and it is not appropriate to share with homeless people who could be lawless and create trash.

I live in SLU near Cascade Park. I understand i live in a neighbor that is going through massive change, but recently, the safety has decreased there has been more drug use, shootings and stabbings. Allowing people to live in the park will only encourage the behavior.

As a homeowner and taxpayer this ordinance is irresponsible, dangerous and not well thought through in my opinion

This is not a solution to homelessness. It's like putting a dirty bandage on a gaping wound.

It failed in Portland. I believe it will fail here only worse. As much as hate to say it (as a lifelong liberal) maybe we could use a republican or two or three on the city council.
