Homeless people need access to shelter and services, not another place to camp and collect trash.

Penalizing existing taxpayers and devastating the city commons is no solution to homelessness.

I am stunned that with $50 million in funding for the homeless, that this is the solution that our city "leaders" have come up with. The exact same plan has already proven disastrous in Portland. Even now, we (the taxpayers) can't enjoy our parks the way we used to, and it will get even worse with this proposal. The homeless in our city need HOMES. Some tough love needs to happen: offer services, and if they don't take it, then those are the people who are simply choosing the lifestyle. And stealing our stuff. Stop spending money on studies, experts and Pronto Bikes, and help these people change their lives for the better.

Keep our parks for what they were meant to be - family friendly, safe, peaceful, beautiful, respite to those that pay taxes to enjoy them.

We need to create a better system to help the homeless... Instead of spoonfeeding them everything.

Totally unacceptable to allow this. Let's find a better alternative

Look, we all know we have a problem with homelessness in Seattle as you can see from our freeways and on and off ramps. But moving them to our gorgeous parks where I walk with my daughter daily is not the answer. The parks would become trashed and it would move everyone who enjoys and pays for these parks away. This is a terrible idea. Please do not do this to our parks

Dear City Council, You have a duty to make an informed choice, and there are many aspects of this bill that are problematic. Please do not rush into this decision.

I've worked in hospitality and with the visiting public for over 21 years. I cannot stress enough how allowing the growing group of disenfranchised people living in Seattle's public spaces is working against our goals for economic vitality. Seattle cannot afford to lose our current market of conventions and visitor based spending and we, most definitely, will if the current problems and what will become even worse problems. Unregulated, unclean, drugs, trash, unsanitary living in our public parks cannot be allowed. Our taxes pay for the services that we hope to enjoy with our families and visitors travel here to enjoy. I understand that we as a people need to take better care of the mental illness behind most of the people choosing to live at this level of squaller. But allowing them to continue to live outside the system and take advantage of public lands and services is not he answer.

Vote NO on the initiative that will allow the homeless community to erect homeless encampments in our city parks

Don't allow camping in parks where our kids play! Especially at areas used by organized sports. Our kids will be safer if we don't allow homeless to camp out (and leave garbage and who knows what else lying around)

Allowing encampments in non-secure, random places will have a detrimental effect to our city and the safety of our children. How many parent wish that their kids could grow up with the same comforts and freedom that we had. We were able to ride bikes around the neighborhood and feel safe. If we allow homeless encampments to be free range, our kids will loose any freedoms that they may have now. I would completely stop allowing my kids to ride their bikes to friends that live off the Burke. It would never be considered secure and safe. I would also not feel comfortable running on the Burke. Please do not move forward with this bill

This is a terrible idea. My representative is Rob Johnson, and I will campaign against him for whoever challenges him next time if he votes for this.

This isn't a solution to the homeless problem, it just makes everyone less safe.
