Vote No and save our parks; they will become unsafe for our children if this legislation becomes law.

Do not allow this to happen

This policy failed in Portland and there is no reason to expect success with it here in Seattle.

This legislation is remarkably unacceptable. Any council member who votes for this will never receive a vote of mine in the future.

Do not let the homeless camp all over our city. We need a real solution and this is not it.

I think this is a terrible idea. And in the future will vote accordingly.

I am a 5' tall woman. I have been threatened on multiple separate occasions by men and women camping on the triangle at Denny Way and Broad. Walking home from my job downtown requires strategic planning to avoid areas where I am afraid. I'm paying over $2K a month so I can live close to work. I'm moving to the 'burbs if this problem escalates.

The fact that y'all are COMPLETELY ignoring your constitutes tells me y'all are getting incentives. What's it worth? I propose the homeless move to the city council's yards.

I would like to see more of an open and ongoing conversation about this issue. Obviously, it is complex and challenging. We need to provide solutions and keep our public parks and protected lands safe for all use. I'd like to see more advertisement of upcoming townhall events, more articles in The Stranger, ect. I am very serious about this and other issues, but I feel there is limited visibility about legislation being proposed and passed and I would like an effort to be made to reach out the community for input and solutions.

If this did not work in Portland, what makes you think it will work here?????

Allowing the homeless to camp in our parks will only make them unusable and dangerous for tax paying citizens. This will not work.

We are already known as "Freeattle"! This is not a safe or healthy solution and will not encourage or support the homeless in ways that they truly need. This also creates additional burdens to our park departments and tax paying homeowners who PAY to use these parks and public spaces and expect and deserve to have a clean, safe, beautiful place to enjoy our city. I will be sure to VOTE AGAINST EVERYONE on our city council who votes for this outrageous and lame "solution". This will only encourage more homelessness, while not addressing the true needs of the homeless community.

This is no solution to homelessness. Please rethink this proposal-- Thank you, Sue Haugen

Portland attempted this very thing and it didn't work. Why are we any different? UGM CEO Jeff Lily stated that his proudest accomplishment to date was cleaning up the jungle in SODO. Why are we creating more opportunities for these camps to start? There is a need, but this is not the solution.

I worry this will cause further antagonism towards a population that needs help. Please do not enact this shortsighted solution.

A humane study must be done prior to "creating a space" for homeless. There are area residents who should be included in all the decision making. In order for anything of this magnitude to work you NEED community involvement. Hold town halls, listen to the neighbors.

I agree with the thoughtful comments made by Tim Burgess. We need solutions that support this community.
