This is absolutely stupid. (Don't like that word, but) sooooo.... we are going to have needles, garbage and human waste around playgrounds, parks, zoos, etc. who's idea was this. This has nothing to do with political parties. Go Tim Burgess.

This ill conceived proposal must be stopped immediately. Opening the City Parks to Homeless encampments will only create additional problems and will attract more homeless persons from other cities while at the same time taking away the enjoyment of the parks from residents, tourists and children.

Please consider the safety of our children in public parks and spaces. This is going to cause more problems and backfire.

this is insanity what you are proposing

This is a horrible proposition and should be stopped. As an expectant father I can't believe that city is willing to shelter the homeless in places where kids are supposed to be able to play. This is a disgrace to our city.

Agree. Keep our parks safe and clean - opening up public space / parks to encampments does not solve the problem.

Do NOT house people in parks, put them into housing, the whole city uses the park and we need them to be safe, clean, and for what little nature remains in the city.

A solution to this problem is very difficult to find. BUT, ruining our parks so the general population cannot enjoy them is not the answer, either.

No homeless in our parks.

I fully support the need to find solutions to assist homeless people in our city. However, this proposal is not a viable solution for anybody. Please look at the failed similar situation in Portland. Our homeless people need real solutions, and our kids and citizens need safe places to play and enjoy Seattle's green spaces. Please use whatever money is available to keep searching for a viable solution. Thank you.

Do NOT allow camping of any kind in city parks. This is a completely non-intended use for these publicly funded spaces and would pose a serious safety risk to residence while also scattering those to truly need public services to the far corners of the city where they will be difficult to reach. Council Bill 118794 is NOT good for Seattle or our residents and should NOT be passed.

This is not the answer and is a terrible idea! I pay taxes for these parks so I can enjoy them with my kids and my pets. I would no longer enjoy going to a park filled with trash, tents and homeless people all around the park. People would get harassed, hurt And would not be able to enjoy themselves in a place that you are supposed to be able to do so. Horrible idea. I can't even believe this is an idea

In what world is this a good idea.?

We did not vote to fund a Seattle Parks district so that we can turn over that public land to squatters. If you condone camping in parks and on sidewalks all you do is encourage people to move to Seattle where they can set up camp for free and not be hassled. It isn't a coincidence that the homeless population is growing in Seattle, it is cause and effect.

This is not a solution.

Seattle needs to learn lessons from Hawaii, how they reduce homeless. Do not follow previous Portland model. It is a disaster. This is what we are known for now, / city for the homeless. Not good.

Great, so if the bill gets passed, no one will be able to enjoy our parks while feeling safe. Burgess is right, this doesn't solve any of the root causes of homelessness in Seattle.

House homeless first! This is a distraction.

This bill should not even be under consideration.
