No homeless encampments in our parks! There is other public/private land that is available. Don't ruin the parks!

I feel strongly that the Sea. City Council is not representing the majority of voters/citizens of Seattle. While we are genuinely sympathetic to the plight of homeless people (and are already supporting a number of costly efforts to house and support them), the Council has been acting with almost an "in-your-face, we'll do whatever we want to do" agenda. Same goes for density and development issues--another important topic.

We live next to Woodland Park and use it almost daily. Crime and health hazards effect us directly. Please observed the law that has been in effect for generations and don't allow camping in our public spaces! Marshall Stuteville
City Officials, take heed to the wishes of your constituents! We live here as do you, and our homeless community. How about we stop the madness and create a reasonable, safe and sustainable plan rather than band aides and looking for the easy way out that costs way too much time, money, energy and most of all, dignity for all of us! Do NOT pass this Bill without further analysis!

Another dumb idea like spending my 5 million on homelessness and NO RESULTS AT ALL. There should be a program that puts homeless people to do community work and get paid.

As a forest steward for Carkeek Park, Golden Gardens Park, and North Beach Park in the NW section of Seattle, I have written to the City Council members, asking them to consider the dangerous pollution, from human waste, to urban forest streams when campers use the Parks for 30 days and more.

We need more considered, thoughtful solutions for the very complex issue of the homeless that fundamental respect the rights of our tax paying citizens.

It's a lose-lose proposal to "solve" the homeless issues by allowing them to pick their tents anywhere they want. It's useless on helping them recovering their lives but taking away our kids playing places. BTW, who will undertake both responsibility and cost for management and maintenance? Don't use our taxes to cover the cost!!!

Why don't they restore the law and order first? Meaning, have the law enforcement pursue the drug dealers with all the tools they have.

Stop rewarding overt lawlessness. I live on Dearborn St. My wife cannot walk to downtown for fear of being accosted by some one who is living on the sidewalk she is using. Garbage and filth is strewn everywhere. No one is accountable. We are looking to leave the city after 40 years.

I would love to see legislation that adequately addresses the needs of homeless individuals in our region. However, as a person who (with my children) spends much time in our public parks, I have repeatedly witnessed inappropriate use of park space by campers. I would instead support expansion of the Tent City process, which has gone relatively well when hosted by neighborhood churches and college campuses in Seattle.
