Let's pump the brakes and bring government, businesses and the community together to follow the lead of those states and communities like Utah who are having success with this difficult issue.

Raising children on QueenAnne and not having to worry about needles in the park should be a childs right, not a campers right.

Respect for less fortunates but why make 'homelessnes' a potential occupation or put kids and others at risk by allowing settlements in parks that function as playgrounds. Why potenially obstruct businesses by having health hazards outside their doors. I have walked past encampments,my husband bikes
past them and they present health risks due to refuse and excrement. There is a better solution than this out there.

This proposed law is not balanced and will do absolutely nothing to move people from homelessness to safe and appropriate housing. Absolutely nothing. If this legislation is adopted by the City Council it won’t move one person to housing. It won’t address drug addiction or mental illness for anyone. And it certainly won’t clean up the piles of garbage we see around Seattle left by urban campers.

We need compassionate and effective approaches to help people leave homelessness. Legalizing camping throughout the city is not the help we need.

City leaders are cowardly in not setting up secure, protected camps for the homeless. Homeless people are citizens but are being treated worse than refugees. Refugees worldwide are provided tents, security, and sanitary facilities. $50 million would buy that if we had leaders willing to act.

The is a totally irresponsible idea. It will only lead to the City of Seattle getting sued for crimes committed
by some of these people.

Please look at other failed cities, a better solution is out there, this is NOT it. Homeless camping is not good for anyone.

Please stop ruining our city. Your intentions are probably good but parks are an amenity, not a housing solution.

Nothing like this bill should ever be enacted into law.

Parks are a place for quiet refuge from city living. Please do not allow them to become a new camp for the homeless in Seattle.

you are asking for chaos. Will you personally take the responsibility for this dangerous action?
