Damn I've had to step over human waste, toilet paper and tons of garbage in Ravenna Park. Impeach O'Brien and Sawant. The only sane councilman is Burgess. Lifetime resident and taxpayer. How disgusting will they let our city become?

To the city council, from a tax payer, please reconsider your vote. Find a better plan for our homeless community. Portland already tried out this experiment and it failed. It will fail here as well for all reasons listed in this petition.

Why would anyone think this is a good idea?

Are you trying to drive families out of Seattle?

This would be an unwise move, compromising the safety of all Seattle citizens. Neighbors of First Hill park have all expressed concern.

Outrageous. If this idea has failed in other cities, why would the City Counsel think it is a good idea for Seattle?

I have had to deal with campers in the alley behind my house. This bill will cause added burden to police and parks personnel. There has to be a better solution.

This is a terrible idea. It will make public spaces nasty and dangerous without helping to solve the homeless problem.

Homeless people belong in homes NOT parks!

This is the most disturbing, irresponsible bill I've ever heard of and I'm tired of watching my neighborhood, parks, alleys and businesses getting trashed and becoming more unsafe. This is not the answer to the homeless problems and in fact, make it worse! Please rethink this dangerous bill and let's find some alternatives that stand a chance while not diminishing the quality of life for all Seattleites!

Our city council & mayor have shown reckless disregard for public safety and taxpayer private property. Their ridiculous policies have not been beneficial and they need to be replaced.

Our kids need parks. Our homeless population needs housing. This legislation is bad for both our kids and at-risk populations!

This petition will not solve homelessness nor help homeless people find safe places to live.
It will increase the ever present garbage problem associated with encampments, and render all affected areas unusable by the rest of Seattle's citizens. The parks will be destroyed and all will lose as a result.

This is a terrible idea that fails at getting the homeless the help they need (treatment for mental disorders or drug problems, safe and secure housing, etc.) and ruins the gems that are Seattle's parks. Homelessness is an issue that must be solved, but this is a band-aid that will do nothing but cause further problems. Any councilor voting in favor of this plan should be voted out of office at the next opportunity.

This did not work in Portland and it will only cause more problems here.

It is just wrong to open camping on publicly owned spaces without designating which spaces are appropriate. However, encouraging camping is a counterproductive measure in the battle against homelessness. Urban camping makes no provisions for helping homeless people to get out of their situation. I am for building many of those mini houses so people can have an address, and their dignity.

This proposed legislation would worsen the current situation. Homeless camps need to be in limited, supervised areas with all needed facilities like toilets.
