Stop Seattle From Turning Our Parks Into Homeless Encampments

The idea that our government representatives have hijacked our right to green spaces is well beyond their authority. The green spaces are not theirs to give. They belong to the people, Including those of us who have chosen not to be homeless, We, the residents if Seattle. Our City Council representatives seem to forget They are our REPRESENTATIVES. Remember: "Government of the people, by the people, for ( all ) people." Tim Burgess seems to be the only one who understands those boundaries. What's with that?!?!? Maybe time for a basic US Civics 101 class for our City Council!

The nicer we are the worse it seems to get. Seattle is attracting people form everywhere. We can't support them.

Please don't allow homeless camps in parks and public places. That definitely can't be the answer. Help build a safer city for all of us!

The more we enable activity like this the more prolific and widespread it will become. What percentage of the ground has to be covered in garbage and used needles for the city to take action and put its foot down and say no more?

We should have a better solution for the homeless than allowing tents in public spaces. Where is the mental care and the food and shelter they need?

Parks are for the public, not for one specific group!!!!! What you as a city council are proposing is a city dump in parks and lack of safety for all!

Enabling these people is not a solution. They migrate from city to city and are a public health and law enforcement nuissance.

We need to keep our precious parks clean and safe so all citizens have the right to use them for their intended purposes

City Parks exist for everyone's enjoyment. What is the plan to prevent illegal activities, including defecation, sex in a public space, drug use, littering, etc. in the parks? THERE IS NO PLAN, and there is no capacity for either the city or the county to provide staff to prevent these activities. I live 2-blocks from a public city park attached to a public school. A year ago I walked past a heroin cooking kit (cut off soda can, needle) on the north side of the park. According to your proposal, next year I can look forward to more of the same and NO CHILDREN playing there. What future are you promoting for us?

The city and the country have been enabling and encouraging this behavior. Some services to combat addiction (what I see as the vast majority of the homeless population) should be available. But these people should not be given victim status.

If you want to help homeless people you need an endgame solution, letting people camp in parks is not a solution. It is lazy governing, find a real fix, and stop proposing half measures. If you wanna see what happens when progressive policies go to far, look at the social democracies in south america. you will have homeless slums pop up if you let them.

I do not want to see our parks and green spaces turned into homeless camps. These spaces should remain clean and drug free for families and others to enjoy. Search for a different solution, but do not allow camping in our parks. Thank you

The hard working, tax paying, law abiding citizens have woken up! We are fed up and we are taking our city back!

Enough already with camping in our parks and making these public places feel less safe for tax payers of Seattle. I’m not lacking compassion for homeless individuals, but our parks, sidewalks and other public spaces are not the answer!

Tax dollars used for taxpayers, not city camping permanent vacationers.

Homeless people are disgusting and making our city dirty, they are stealing things all throughout neighborhoods from hard working people! Please get them out of here!!!
