We need to solve the homeless problem by working on affordable living space in Seattle.

Homeless moving into public parks is crazy the beginning of a much larger problem

Please exhibit some rationality on this issue and focus on measures to reduce homelessness - mental health, free housing, coordinate existing services, one or two permanent managed camping areas in a designated, patrolled site like Discovery Park with sanitation facilities provided.

I don't want our parks to become like downtown portland.

I know opposing this proposal can seem like a case of NIMBY, but the proposal truly does not address the causes and creates more problems in its wake. If the sponsors intended it as a wake up call, fine, let's have productive dialogue on how we can really address mental health, poverty, healthcare, etc. but let's not implement a disastrous idea.

Is Burgess the only councilmember with any brains? Please, in the name of all things holy, DO NOT pass 118794. Does this city have a homeless problem? Of course. Does passing this bill do anything about it? Absolutely not. Don't destroy our parks like you've destroyed our sidewalks.

I do not like the homeless in our city parks. It did not work in Portland and will not work here.

This is not the answer to help the homeless population.

Please don't do this. Portland's experiment in this regard was a disaster.

As one that works in a neighborhood that has many homeless campers, I can attest to the fact that this is a really terrible idea. A total no brainer.....homeless camping in our parks....absolutely NOT.

I want solutions for our homeless but our family-orientated park areas is not the answer!

Does the Seattle City Council know how badly the experiment went in Portland? As always, "Portland envy."

This is absolutely the most ridiculous, poorly thought out bill I've ever read.

Try some common sense. Spreading out the trash, poor sanitation and poverty does not make it go away. Provide places for those who want to camp as well as those for whom it is a temporary lifestyle. Provide outhouses, garbage cans and pick up. As housing is built move them out. Help these people live with some dignity when they're down and out. Provide education, social services places to shower and clean up. Treat their camping as the stop gap that it is.

Portland tried this and it failed! Parks should be not used in this manner. They won't be safe for families and children.

This is ridiculous. Keep the homeless criminals out of our parks.

Please keep the parks family friendly.
