This is not safe for anyone, it will result in unsanitary conditions in our parks where our children and families play. This is not the answer, it will not provide the help to these people that they need, it will only close our parks and keep our children and families out of them.

This is not the answer! These poor folks need places to stay but not camping all over the parks. It is not safe " such as sanitation, drug use, needle left where children are playing and garbage" it isn't safe for them or the folks who use the parks....

Absolutely against turning our neighborhood parks and sidewalks to homeless encampments. We pay property tax to be in neighborhoods we choose, and the city shouldn't make any decision that impacts the public without first getting our approval. Homeless encampments in neighborhoods is a dangerous idea - for the homeless as well as the taxpayer-residents. It doesn't help the homeless and devastates the stability of our neighborhoods. The homeless need an indoor facility with showers and bathroom, not our parks and sidewalks!

Pubic parks are for the enjoyment and safety of everyone ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO PAY FOR THEM.

Let's keep our parks for our children and not turn them into encampments. City Council please listen to your citizens.

Put our resources instead towards mental health care, education and jobs for the homeless (something purposeful for them to do).

Tent encampments are not a viable solution for those experiencing homelessness in our city. This proposal could create a giant public health disaster for all our residents, especially those most vulnerable. Sweeps are also an inhumane practice. Please take the time to have a discussion with public health, justice, urban policy persons and citizens as well to come to a level headed & safe & supportive solution. No more "progressive posing" at the expense of those you are claiming to be helping!! Thank you. I am a public health nurse who works with many people experiencing homelessness. I know what I'm speaking about!! No one at the city has bothered to even answer my emails. Most prominently my council person Ms Sawant. Cheryl Berenson RN, MS, MPH.

I oppose using Seattle Parks for homeless encampments. We need stronger, strategic leadership in addressing this issue

All citizens have a right to have clean, welcoming public spaces for all people to enjoy-- including children. Our public-owned public land is precious open space. The solution to homelessness is NOT urban camping. Please say no to public urination, defecation, trash and drug/alcohol use in our public spaces. Keep our city's public spaces clean and safe for ALL. Urban Camping is NOT a solution for homelessness. Urban Camping is not a civil right.

I can't believe you think this is an answer. What kind of an environment will the parks be for my and my grandchildren..... What a stupid stop gap -- they need homes, rehab facilities, mental health facilities -

This is a terrible idea. Please put a stop to this ridiculous effort that has already failed elsewhere.

Please do NOT approve the proposal to allow camping in Seattle parks and greenbelts. City council, how about representing your tax-paying constituents? Many of the homeless have real drug or mental health issues and need help, but not this kind of help that endangers the rest of us.

day users belong in parks. parks are not houses and people should not be living in them
