Please take the citizens concerns for safety seriously.

This is the most absurd bill! why do we continue to enable these people? I'm going to sell my house, buy a luxury motor home & start parking on the streets for free!

This ordinance does nothing to alleviate homelessness and does everything to ruin neighborhoods, local businesses, and visitors' experiences.

I recently moved from down town Ballard where this is essentially already happening. In the summer people were camped in the park and literally on the sidewalks and parking strips right out side out appartment. Generally people were publicly drunk and getting high in the park, as well as selling drugs. What I can only describe as flotillas of packed shopping carts blocked the sidewalks. This is not an overly dramatic description. It's what central Ballard now looks and feels like. The park that was built for children and community gatherings, with a spray park and skate bowl was a regular hang out for us when my son was little, by the time we moved we just avoided it. It is a sad loss of a community resource. I find it stunning that they don't want people living in the Jungle, or Nicklesville, because it's unsafe. Yet they think it a good idea to move potentially unstable folks into common spaces intended for kids and community. Insane.

This is unsafe for Seattle families and will only showcase the council's incompetence in dealing with this chronic issue.

This is the breaking point for residents who are continually being asked to pay more in taxes and what do we get but the inability to use our own parks. Vote out this council.

I don't think it's a safe solution for the homeless. We need to provide appropriate housing. It's also unsanitary & hard on the parks & wildlife. I think it will make the problem worse.

There are already tons of used needles, feces, and trash as a result of existing homeless encampments. Clean up the trash and needles first and foremost.

Public spaces are for the public. Not for a subset of the population.

Allowing camping in public parks is not the answer and is an abdication by the City Council of the real responsibility to address this problem.
