I understand homelessness in our city is a huge problem and needs to be addressed, but don't the rest of count too? Are we not deserving of safe, clean public parks? This simply moves people from one jungle to a newly created one.

We need to house the homeless, but letting people camp everywhere is not the answer. We need better solutions.

This is not a good solution at all

Parks belong to all the citizens of the city, not the homeless. Homeless need to start being productive members of society not parasites!

Housing first! Camping and thereby destroying our public spaces is not acceptable.

This is beyond stupid, it is irresponsible.

Special interests should not be allowed to prevail re. this issue. City Council members who support it should not be re-elected.

There are shelters but many do not want rules. I'm sure it will change soon, when our weather isn't so nice. You can't blame it all on Amazon or the City of Seattle. Over half of our homeless have migrated to Seattle from other cities, counties and many other states because we make it easier for them and clean up after them. Our summers are beautiful here. Who wouldn't rather camp out in the middle of seattle in the summer coming and going as they please, no responsibility to clean up after themselves, and able to drink and take drugs whenever. Is it the City of Seattle and it's tax payer's responsibility/burden to house, clothe, feed and clean up after those unwilling to help themselves. If they can afford the luxury of cigarettes, alcohol and or drugs, then they aren't in need. Many people sacrifice such luxuries, they commute hours a day to work, they work multiple jobs..... so they can make a rent payment or eat. Why shouldnt they be offered the low income housing first? Why do they have to provide housing in the city. Wouldn't it be more cost effective to build it elsewhere... Provide job searching assistance, provide clothes and bus fare for interviews. Give them community rules to follow and have them all participate in the care of the facility and each other, in exchange for this housing off the streets. If we keep giving handouts and stronger rights to live in our parks and public common area, their numbers will continue to grow. And how wrong is that the tax payers will be paying the fines the City will have to pay a homeless person, if we move them off public property to soon without proper notice? I could see the scammers instigating issues that will result in them being paid off with restitution for the violation..... Domino effect people.... Its a reality our city council is not realizing.

Do not open any parks and sidewalks to the Homeless. The homeless are a detriment to the safety of our children. The parks are not designed to allow camping.

This has got to be a joke right? Socialist Seattle is failing its citizens.

This is NOT a solution to homelessness... King County is home to thousands of millionaires and more than a few billionaires... put a tax on them to pay for housing. Or put a tax on homeowners to pay for housing. Or something... just don't create "Nickelsvilles" all over Seattle. Council members' re-election will depend on it.

Homeless people need a decent place to live -- not in a tent. And all of Seattle needs access to safe & untrashed parks.

Tax payer money is going to maintenance and upkeep of public parks and sidewalks. Why are we giving free reign to people who 1) contribute nothing back to our community 2) only care about their habits and addiction without any consequences 3) will destroy the area with litter and human waste. This needs to stop.

Ill-conceived. The City Council needs to listen to the residents of Seatte.

This cannot pass! We cannot have the safety and cleanliness of our parks compromised. Where will children have a safe place to play?
