Don't ruin our beautiful city! Realize that the homeless are often desperate and this could lead to additional crime in what are considered safe pubic areas.

Please do not authorize camping in our public spaces, greenways and parks. This solution is unacceptable.

Clean up our city , Seattle has turned into a drug abuse center with all these homeless. Help the mentally ill, lock up the criminals and enforce our laws.

If homeless are allowed to camp in publicly owned areas of Seattle it will no longer be safe for the people who pay taxes and donate to the parks department .. if this is passed I will no longer donate to the parks, library or any other public area where homeless are living. I will encourage my friends to stop their donations too and actively campaign against all city officials that voted for this change to our city's laws

This bill is irresponsible. No thought to the safety and sanitary conditions of our parks. Shame on the City Council. NO COMMON SENSE. Garbage and human waste all over our parks. Why don't you come out and clean it up.

please investigate the boondoggle created when Portland OR allowed camping on the street and in parks before it is allowed in Seattle.

Please don't do this. There has to be more thought out into a decision of this magnitude

I am against allowing homeless camping in neighborhood parks. My kids are already finding used syringes in the Ravenna park, afraid to walk the dog in the park, piles of trash are everywhere along with human waste. The once beautiful neighborhood park that my kids played in is turning into a garbage dump. Your solution is to promote camping in this park? You want to waste my tax money promoting homeless camping with free social services with my taxes in my local park ......Pushing the problem into local family neighborhoods is not the solution. I have lived all over the world throughout my life and I have never never seen a more ineffective city government in action.

I don't oppose homeless sleeping in the parks, but do oppose a bunch of red tape around it

Parks are not designed for housing the homeless. They are safe green spaces for kids and families.

This cannot happen.

The City Council has lost connection with the fact that we live in a functionally capitalism based society. Knowing where to draw lines in those sands has proved to be their failure.

Each Council member needs to talk to Portland officials about their experience with such a plan.

As the petition says, public parks are not the answer for putting homeless populations. These are supposed to be areas for families, schools and anyone to be outdoors and active and enjoy nature. They are also paid for by taxpayers and there are not that many parks across the Seattle or Eastside. Let's keep what we have available to everybody.
