I do not want our city parks becoming encampments. There must be an alternative solution to provide for these people without us losing our much beloved parks.

Allowing people to camp in parks or on the sidewalks is not a solution. This will backfire.

No camping in parks, for homeless or anyone.

The Jungle, today, 10/11:2016,... enough said!!! Please don't take the city parks away from our children! Every time an encampment pops up in our Seattle neighborhood, dirty needles pop up in our parks and on our streets, and property crime rates explode. We tax paying citizens are becoming the true victims of the Seattle City Council. Efforts will be better spent building mental health and drug treatment facilities rather than continuing on a course that is clearly not working. Enough!!!

Lower Woodland Park is already rife with used needles and condoms, as well as human feces. There are currently 8 outdoor preschool/kindergarten programs using that park on a daily basis. Homeless people need to be in homes, especially as cold weather sets in.

I care deeply for the people and families facing homelessness, but allowing people to camp all over our public spaces is NOT the answer.

The restrooms in the city parks are already a public health hazard from regular daily use. Allowing full-time residents into the parks will only increase the public health risk as the city does not have the resources to adequately keep the parks clean & safe for all.

Utterly dumbfounded that this legislation could be perceived as a good idea. How unsafe for everyone.

I believe this would escalate the crime rate and violence in the city enormously - there is no control of drug and alcohol abuse nor way to protect citizens from the mentally. ill. Portland tried it for a very short period of time and it failed. This is simply dispersing the Jungle throughout the city. Who will protect us...there are not enough police. We had an incident at work on Friday that required a SWAT team to come in because a homeless man living in a tent was brandishing a gun. He escaped, so no arrest could be made.
