Instead of this junk law how about passing laws which will allow the city to provide mental health and addiction treatment to those homeless who need it but refuse services?

This is not the correct solution for Seattle's homeless problem. We are very opposed to opening up Seattle's park spaces to encampments. Did we not learn from the Jungle? Please do not vote for this bill--we feel it will make our park spaces unsafe, pass on additional expenses to the taxpayers and not meet the housing and other infrastructure needs for our existing homeless people. We need time to look at feasible solutions that do not take away everyone's enjoyment of public spaces.

I'm for helping homeless people, but this is not the solution. Portland just tried it and terminated the program because it just doesn't work.

This bill is misguided and irresponsible. Our Parks are absolutely NOT where the homeless should reside. 80% of the homeless in Seattle are addicts. Enabling them is not a smart move.

There are better solutions to the homeless problem. Our parks are already overrun.

We are going to keep getting these types of bonehead proposals as long as we keep electing people who want to further their own social agenda instead of representing their tax-paying constituents. Please remember those on the council who supported this when the next election rolls around.

This is not responsible legislation. While it would definitely raise visibility to the homelessness problem, it could cause a huge problem that could take years to clean up.

Parks are not the answer to Homelessness. Please utilize all other options before resorting to Public Spaces. IE all the Golf Courses around the Puget Sound!.

I am an advocate for homeless people but this is an irresponsible answer to our cities problem. Please take the time to make sure this is the right move.

Please do not enact this foolish legislation. Seattle parks are one of the best parts of this city, and this legislation will ruin this asset for the hardworking taxpayers and voters.
