Parks are for everyone to enjoy. They are NOT for people to live in them. The SOCIAL IMPACTS of this proposal is far greater a reason than ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS that would be awful. Can you imagine the ramifications of children playing in a park occupied by homeless people. It is a scary proposition and one that ought NOT be allowed. What can the proponents possibly be thinking?? My thought is that proponents of such a disastrous idea is that they are NOT thinking. Homeless encampments DO NOT BELONG IN PARKS.

As a tax payer and owner of property in the city this is ridiculous legislation that MUST be stopped. Do your job City Council by coming up with ACTUAL solution to this problem instead of some ludicrous idea such as camping on the sidewalk and parks.

Please, help those who deserve help and don't enable those who don't!

Please amend this and spend your efforts working to provide services or housing to those in need.

Don't repeat Portland's mistake - work on solving the problem, not shuffling it off into public spaces.

My compassion is wearing thin. I love Seattle and have lived here for 28 years. I have raised my daughter, owned a home, own a small business, and been involved in many aspects of various communities. I am sick with what is happening in our city, with economic pressures from above and below. I feel like Seattle is not a place for people in the middle anymore.

I've lived in the Greenlake neighborhood for 23 years and have seen the destruction of the parks increase dramatically as homeless persons have moved in over the last 2-3 years. Flooding public spaces with homeless people is the council's way of getting support for public funding for real solutions. Why not propose real solutions now instead of forcing confrontation, and straining what compassion the community has?

Please, vote no. This is a terrible idea for all involved. This is too much space, requires too many resources and damages land.

There are better solutions than this.

This is terrible, destroying our cities and making them more unsafe for young people, old people ands the most vulnerable simply to push a liberal agenda. This doesn't help the homeless situation, it exacerbates it. We need a new council. The fact that it's even being proposed is an indictment on who we have in office "representing" us. Shame!

Please do something to fix this problem. It's getting out of hand. Just today 10/11/16, there was an incident at the jungle.

This is unacceptable for the safety of our kids in the community.

The homeless have more rights than tax payers! They are given amenities for free. My mother living on Social Security benefits could hardly pay her garbage bill! We pay for city crews to come clean up after these people! Why do they litter? Because they don't care! Make these homeless clean up for themselves. There is something really wrong with this picture! I suggest for every council person that votes in favor of this, that 2 dozen homeless should be assigned to live in their yards, basements, or wherever they have room. I would expect that it would warm their hearts and make themselves feel like they're "helping"!

The hell with camping in parks

Our parks are not campsites! This does nothing to help move the homeless into housing.
