Stop Seattle From Turning Our Parks Into Homeless Encampments

This bill is irresponsible. It is shocking that the Seattle City Council is even thinking about voting on this bill without further conversation and a formal vote by registered voters in the City of Seattle. This bill is not what voters want and it is shocking that our elected officials would even consider this bill as it stands today. Please remove this bill from consideration and come up with a different plan to address homelessness.

The idea of allowing camping of anyone in parks is a horrible way of ignoring any lasting solution for homelessness. The city can come up with job placement in so many services that would help the unemployed and help the city of Seattle. Also intervention and detox .teams to assist drug addicted homeless.Tents in the rain does not do a single thing to address this issue.

This is an outrage! Our parks should be kept sacred and not used in this manner!

I agree with this petition. The city needs to find a way to solve the problem in an ethical way. Not to burden our parks with offthegrid urbanites.

I have a brother with longstanding mental illness who lives in subsidized housing in another expensive metropolitan area. The solution for those with intractable problems is housing not tents.

The issue of handling homelessness in Seattle needs to done in a constructive, and 'big picture' manner. Throwing money at it will, and has, made it worse. Let's spend resources on those who need and WANT help.

get these people the streets. I've already been dealing with vandalism, increased trespassing, and harassment in my own property in Greenlake.

This is a ridiculous idea. I am a flaming liberal but I still don't want my parks (EVERYONES parks) to become garbage dumps that all of the freeway on ramps have become!!

I have compassion for anyone who is homeless, however, this is not the solution. I am opposed to any camping in our parks and greenbelts.

This bill needs to be significantly revised prior to appoval.

While homelessness remains a problem Council Bill 118794 is NOT the answer. In fact, it's not even a viable solution and does nothing but highlight a known problem leaving in its wake new and additional problems for even more people.

Do not turn our public parks into homeless shelters where we can no longer take our children and grandchildren to play. This is not the intended use of these greenbelt areas nor could they hold up to this kind of usage.

I care deeply for the plight of the homeless, but this is not the answer. We need something better. Please look for safe solutions for all concerned.

Get them homeless people out of this wonderful state!!!
