Please reconsider offering our community spaces and green spaces up for people to live in. This does nothing to help homeless individuals get proper shelter and care. It will destroy the beautiful parks that we maintain and put citizens in danger.

This proposal is the wrong approach that will only make a serious problem considerably worse. We need to be able to help homeless who need help, not turn the city into an unsafe and costly campground.

Tax paying citizens pay for our streets, parks, law enforcement etc. We do not pay for anyone that is allowed to live on our streets -

How incredibly short-sighted the council is on this matter! Public green space in an urban environment is a valued treasure and necessity for all residents to enjoy. Our choices regarding housing options are heavily influenced by these neighborhood assets, and our taxes support them. Converting these spaces into makeshift residential areas is unacceptable, and simply shifts the concern about safety around the Jungle to other areas of the city. I'm sure other parents could understand concerns around safety for their children potentially coming to children's parks and green spaces. This is also an incredible disservice to the homeless population. It does nothing to address homelessness, inadequate shelter, poverty, unemployment, mental illness, or substance use. It violates the rights of the homeless about their choice of where to live without giving them anything beneficial in return!

Parks should be maintained for everyone to use dawn to dusk. Camping overnight jeopardizes safety, park cleanliness, vegetation preservation. This proposes legislation is pushing the problem of homelessness around..

I am very against this idea of camping in green spaces. We pay dearly for our taxes in Seattle to have city parks ruined by the homeless. I live in north Seattle and have seen so many neighbors and business battle squatters using drugs and setting up their crazy campers. The garabage they accumulate and leave in 3 days time is amazing. This is a crazy idea. NO NO NO

I feel my granddaughter and I have a right to play in parks without the homeless and drugs threatening our safety and eliminating our outdoor time.

I'm all for a comprehensive solution to assist the homeless in our city/region, but this is not the correct action.

If this measure passes, this city will become a garbage dump. This is a wealthy town, and there is abundant money to deal with this responsibly. House or help those who will accept it, but do not gift our precious open spaces to those who refuse to be helped. It's simply unbelievable that such a measure is even being considered.

I think most people in Seattle are getting tired of this problem. We know the city has helped a lot of people, but the homeless just keep coming.

This ordinance does not solve the homeless problem in the city. The city should be focused on getting everyone in homes, not allowing them to stay in tents. The city council needs to listen to the people of Seattle and allow us to vote on measures like this that effect our safety and public areas for our families.
