I am not in favor of Turing parks and sidewalks into "homeless" camp grounds. I am not in favor of my little grandchildren getting stuck with needles, being in danger of violence as well the city being overrun by crime, drugs, garbage, filth and addicts. I support homeless families. Create sgekters and lay to get ad ducts iff the streets!

I do believe in helping those who are homeless. However, turning our parks & sidewalks into 'housing' isn't the answer. There needs to be more treatment programs & lower housing costs. PREVENTING homelessness is just as important. For example, my 93 yr old mother is living on Medicare & a retirement based on the 1980's. (Approx. $2200 monthly. House taxes alone are almost $6,000 for small house in Crown Hill. No help with electricity phone etc.) Yet she gets NO assistance because she's too 'wealthy.' Seattle is pushing her out of her home of 60 yrs. Where will she end up? Hopefully not in in a tent in the zoo. You need to start looking at the homeless issue in a broader way. Subsidize more for high rent costs and assist people who make more than $15,000 a year STAY in their home.

Seattle has precious few green spaces. Please don't destroy them by allowing people to live in them,

This is not a solution that serves anyone, learn from Portland's similar failure. Create dangerous zones in our common spaces, ruining the livability of the city. Get some serious thinking to solve this dilemma, this is a short sighted bandaid approach that will only cause an abscess.

The homeless do not need a place to put their tents, they need homes.

I'm a Seattle resident and this bill is an insult to the 99% of people living and paying taxes in this city. Focus on mental health facilities where it matters, not our parks.

Please do not pass this ordinance as currently written. It is well intentioned but not well thought out. It does not thoroughly consider the consequences to public health, safety and general well being of children.

It's bad enough that they are on our city streets and leave trash as a thank you. This city is too friendly and offers them practically anything because they don't care. Have them earn their way just like the rest of us. Nothing is free in this world but the city offers them more then the working class. Save our parks!

The council members need to respect the needs of all city residents and just run bizarre social experiments that will devastate our parks and our city

This does nothing to bring services to the homeless. Instead it makes the problem more diffuse and sets up multiple opportunities for confrontation.

This is not a viable solution and will only make the homeless situation worse.

This is not a legitimate thoughtful plan that will have any successful outcome for this group of citizens based on substantial research and comparable failures
Be rational and please listen to your constituents that pay taxes and pay your salaries

I use North Acres Park every day and clean up on my daily walks. . I'm afraid of the impact that a large number of campers would have on our beautiful park. I've seen what neighborhood tent cities can do in just a few weeks with litter and human waste....not to mention the increased crime and drug needles found littered where our children can find them. This is not an acceptable solution!

Our public parks belong to the public and are paid for by taxpayers. We cannot let them be occupied by homeless encampments. The law prohibits overnight camping and we must enforce this law. Otherwise our precious parks will become overrun, degraded and a dangerous environment. The citizens will lose their parks. there are other solutions that must be pursued that do not take our parks away from public use.

What about the rights of those wanting to use the parks without disturbance? I am so frustrated with this whole situation. The homeless population is increasing due to lax rules for them, and due to increased drug addition. There are many people living in these encampments who do NOT want to go to a Shelter and who choose NOT to work. We need to force their hand off the streets (except of course for the mentally ill, in which case there should be a humane solution for their well being). I work downtown and can say that I am truly embarrassed at what tourists see of our city, and the Mayor should be too.
