Homeless encampment in the park will drastically change the characters of the park that suppose to be for everyone. Our park is not for any politician to give away to one group of people.

I urge you to vote against Bill 118794. This is not an answer to our homeless problem but only creates additional burden and unintended adverse consequences

Danny Westneat's column was instructive. Let's learn from Portland what not to do as we grapple with homelessness.

Absolutely unacceptable. Moving around a problem is not solving it!

If this is the best idea that our current city government can come up with, we are in dire need of new leadership. This is a dangerous, unworkable policy. Maybe the homeless can sleep in City Council Chamber or better yet council members' backyards.

Please reconsider this proposal. I think this would lead to unsafe conditions at our parks.

Just not a good solution.

Please reconsider re-purposing our parks for "private" housing. This will degrade the physical condition of the parks and make law enforcement much more difficult. There will likely be non-homeless individuals who take advantage of this situation.

Not in our parks, not near our schools. Please consider previous tent city sites, sodo, etc. these parks are in residential neighborhoods where there are no other services for these people in need. It invites more drug crime and property crime to our neighborhoods.

A prime example of how out of touch and narrow minded our city council is....

Homeless people belong in homes, rehab facilities, mental health facilities or other places where they can get the help they need.
Homeless people needs to be responsible about their facilities and stuff.

This plan is idiotic, just look at what happened when Portland tried it out. We need to help fix this problem instead of wasting time & tax-dollars on this idiotic non-helping plan

The "band aid" response of using our public parks to shelter the homeless is an avoidance of building low income housing. A tax needs to be levied on every developer that then gets used to build low income housing.

This is a poor plan to solve a serious problem.

Parks are for all Seattle residents to enjoy, not just the homeless!

Homelessness is incredibly sad, however, with so many leniances given to the homeless, the problem will only worsen. It's gotten so out of hand that more homeless individuals are flocking to Seattle (from all over the country) because of Seattle's reputation of being "the HOMELESS Friendly" city of America!

This is a terrible idea. I would think the goal would be to clean up the city, not create a multitude of environmental and safety hazards all over the city and taking away parks from the citizens. Plus, the city needs to find homes for the homeless and care for the mentally disabled and drug addicted.
