How can the public feel safe, when people are living homeless within our parks? Parks where hardworking citizens frequent? Parks where children roam? Parks nearby schools, parks frequent to pedestrain traffic? No more homeless in Seattle City Parks!!!!!

While it clear that homelessness is a human tragedy. Many of the folks need help, but is certainly not the answer especially in light of Portland's failed experiment.

This is not the way to handle our city's homeless problem. Subjecting our children and families to the dangers of this is unexeceptabke!

Do not allow homeless camping in Seattle parks. Period! These parks are for us all to enjoy in safety.

This bill is not a solution to the problem...it's like applying a Band-Aid to a gunshot wound...BAD idea. It does NOT resolve the source of the problem. It DOES create more problems - environmentally (the impact on Seattle's beautiful green areas is unimaginable), socially (clashes between city residents will become inevitable, and let's not forget the children), and economically (Seattle will become dirty and unlivable, hence, residents and business could potentially leave the city in frustration). Really Seattle??? REALLY?? Address the problem - grab the bull by the horns! Don't cop out to what appear as "easy" and dangerous solutions that do nothing but enable those individuals that desperately need help - EMPOWER, don't ENABLE. BIG difference!

NO on using our beautiful parks. i would not take any child to play if there are encampments. Who will clean up all the trash.

Driving downtown to work makes me sick. Filth. Needles and human waste in Woodland Park, Carkeek Park, Discovery Park. Shame on the City Council for destroying our city!

This is absolutely the wrong way to confront homelessness. It will exacerbate the problem ten fold. Please wise up and get these people some tiny houses and most importantly, the services they need!!

Quit funding the rogue nonprofit SHARE also!!! It's high time for some accountability to transition the homeless off of drugs and into housing. Seattle is now a magnet for homeless people from all over North America with our lack of law enforcement and a city council that pays meaningless lip service to the problem. All of this at the expense of public safety and keeping our city beautiful for all. We're fed up.

No parks or public areas. Homeless get services or get out. No option.

It took this proposed legislation to find the limit of my bleeding heart. Such a bad idea on so many levels.

Insanity is the best way to describe this utterly stupid law. Is Seattle trying to become America's most unlivable city?

It's a fundamental human right to live at this minimum level with dignity. We need to face the issue and deal with that in a proper, effective way quickly.

I frequent the parks with my toddler children (especially montlake, interlaken, arboretum, volunteer park) and have several significant concerns regarding proposed camping in parks: 1. safety of my children & myself if the parks are used for camping. Recall that actual and perceived threats for families can impact parks intended uses. 2. environmental implications. I have worked hard as a volunteer in parks to help maintain native vegetation, clean up litter and minimize erosion. I would question how sanitation (for bathrooms and waste disposal) would be managed in this setting, as the trash piles under i5 have not been managed from observation. And would want a clear plan for what the environmental impact on the parks would be (how is this assessed? Reassessed? Monitored? Unintended consequences identified?). 3. This is not appropriate space for camping and may negatively affect people with and without homes as well. Given these concerns, I request that you please allow my tax paying and park utilizing family to maintain a safe environment and maintain urban park areas for their intended public use and as aneeded urban nature refuge.

We need a comprehensive approach which ties long term housing for those who need it to also dealing with substance abuse and mental health issues.
