Roofs not tents. Services, not unaccountable programs like tent encampments!

Who is the city? Aren't all of us that live here the city? So whose buildings are you talking about? Our houses, oh no, then they wouldn't be the city's problem, they'd be our problem. Well at least then we wouldn't have a homeless problem! We'd have dysfunctional home problems. Then our homes wouldn't be safe. Oh, wait, that's how a lot of them ended up there in first place. Okay, what if those of us who have homes stay home, telecommute, go to internet correspondence school, and have everything delivered via Amazon. Then the homeless could make themselves at home anywhere they want as long as it wasn't our home... I mean as "in our house" home. Imagine what it's like to never feel at home. I mean the city with all these feral homeless people is dangerous, right? Where did those drugs come from? Afghanistan? And the weapons? 3D printers at the public library I suppose. I really wish they could be more civil like the rest of us. And lord knows, with all the cougars and bears and such nature is pretty dangerous too. And, wow, taxpayers who pay taxes and yet still we have a national debt of 19 trillion dollars. How many of us would be homeless if we had to pay our share of that. That's 164K per taxpayer. Hey, if the homeless encampments are unsafe, we shouldn't be letting the homeless live there. Well, it's not like we're letting them live there really, we just haven't stopped them yet. I am so glad I have to pay taxes so I can be a person of privilege! No wonder those native americans lost access to all those pleasant green spaces. They should have paid their taxes! That will teach them! I just hope they don't try to collect on that 164K or I'm screwed! Really though, the city should work harder to find spaces for the homeless. Maybe we could put them in storage until we figure out what to do with em.......Nah... we all know how that turns out. HOW ABOUT LOVE. I MEAN BIG LOVE. COURAGEOUS LOVE. Get off your ass and Facebook love. Home is where the heart is....

I go walking with my son in some of these parks. I would worry for our safety and of being harassed for money everytime we try to enjoy the park. This is a horrible idea, that will smell up and pollute the few nice parks in Seattle. Gross.

Until you can show me how you plan to deal with the environmental impact people living without basic services will have on our green spaces you do not have my support. This is an ill thought out attempt to deal with a problem that has plagued this city for years.

Our parks were built with taxes to provide a natural environment of recreation and safety for those of all ages. Not for residences of the homeless, bring unsafe elements as collateral damage. Time for a new city council.

My Kindergarten aged daughter goes to the school right next to one of these parks. There are no trash cans and just one ports potty. Homeless and the children of our city deserve more than this...

Our family visiting us in Seattle is appalled at the encampments of poor people and vagrants. Our once beautiful city now looks like a dump. Vote NO on October 14.

It all sounds good on the surface to help the homeless but this is a disaster of a legislation. If the city is having a hard time now finding contractors for clean up, how much harder this bill will make it. It's not heartless to keep Seattle and all other parks safe by opposing this legislation.

Hey City do your job for a change and stop making decisions that trash out city. I feel for the homeless but you need to pull your head out and get to work solving the issues and not pass your incompetence onto the tax paying responsible citizens of Seattle.

Put them in tiny houses. .etc. do not allow them to camp and ruin our greenbelts..promote drug use and overall disrespect to the land.the very land our tax money goes to for up keep etc. What a waste . There are alternative ways. The 12 million allocated could have easily built a tiny home community for these people while they are in transition.

This is not the right legislation. It will only encourage more homeless to come here and exponentially expand our problems with substance abuse and mental illness.

We need a solution but the current one on the table is not the right answer.

I moved to Seattle 5 yrs ago. When I first moved here I was blown away by how dirty this city is. Be responsible city leaders and take care of the city. Quit supporting homeless people and I they will stop coming here. This very irresponsible, and unsafe for the taxpayers.

Parks are not homes for people, they are homes for nature and wildlife, a place for everyone to enjoy beauty and peace - not tents and trash. There needs to be a better solution, like abandon buildings that can be fixed up.
