Please keep the parks for kids, families and others to enjoy. There are better solutions.

This is not a permanent solution, and as a temporary solution it will only increase bad will towards a population that needs support services.

We need a better solution. This is not a well thought out idea.

This is a plan that also failed in Portland

They're public parks. How can the public use them when they feel like they're walking into someone's home?

Please vote NO/DEFER on this legislation. The homeless problem needs to be addressed but this is not the way.

Do you even care at all about us regular citizens? This is unacceptable. While we feel bad for the homeless people, there is a significant amount of them that want to be homeless and have no respect for others. This is not helping them and it is putting all the rest of us in danger.

Please do not vote for this. We have seen this fail. We need to find an alternative.

Bad idea, you are just moving the problem to a different location. And, what about families? These are parks, where kids play!! Think!!! Buy an old building, turn it into a shelter!!!

Lets explore alternatives before we turn Ravenna Park into a campground for the homeless. In Summer 1998, faced with massive lawlessness in the Park, we removed people who were misusing the Park for their personal misconduct - drugs, excretion, aggressive behavior - and took back Ravenna Park for the community. to use again. Lets not recreate those undesirable conditions.

It is time for the city council to listen to and acknowledge the creditable concerns of the tax-paying citizens of Seattle and at least put this legislation on hold. Why not open Safeco Field to house the homeless over the winter months where they would be dry, warm and relatively safe. Humanitarian services could be provided as well as monitoring of illegal and detrimental behavior.

Open development for more real estate projects - We have a supply issue! If rent were lower, imagine how much growth the city would sustain. Many people leave simply because of the rent prices - which is a result of too few units. This keeps the price of renting out of reach for many people and makes turning to the streets an option. Don't allow people to live like animals - encourage development!

As a Seattle native, seeing the homeless epidemic along I5 makes me sick, but allowing encampments in our parks and green spaces is not a solution. My kids play in the parks and I want them to be safe and play in an area that is clean. The trash piles along the freeway are not what I want to see in our parks. It's bad enough that we as residents have to see this on daily commutes and visitors to our beautiful city are greeted with garbage - our kids should not have to see all of this when they play.

Keep our families and children safe. Protect the rights of Seattle citizens and our use of public spaces. Create a balanced and humane approach to homelessness in Seattle and do not invite the progression of the problem. Learn and glean from what happened in Portland.

This is not a good idea. It is not safe for children to have so many unsupervised homeless people in a place where we take them to be the most safe, our parks.

Using parks for in city homeless camps is not ok - parks are for all for day time use there are facilities to accommodate camping. The homeless camps you see now are filthy - Seattle isn't helping - this is giving up!
