How is it that the supposedly liberal members of our City Council are enshrining in law this unacceptable way to "house" individuals. Outdoor camping in an urban area is by it's very nature a public health hazard to all citizens, both homeless and not.

I am strongly against Council Bill 118794.

This is NOT a good idea. Our parks and city streets should NOT be turned into living space for the homeless. Please rethink your solution and take a different course of action.

What is the city council thinking??

Please do not let this happen. Find a safer area for all. This will turn our parks into trash city. Look at the unused Ports along the waterfront. That is away from visitor and busy areas. There is plenty of room for RVs, porta-potties, portable showers, garbage containers etc.

Please reconsider this -

This will not benefit this city. Please allow these encampments to exist under the freeways and like previous encampments with incentives to transition people into assisted housing.

This is not the way to deal with the homeless problems.

Parks are not a place for camping. They are a place for the community to gather. Keeping them clean and safe is what we pay for. We don't pay for them to be used as camping grounds and distroyed.

Voters deserve a say in this big decision in our city.

This idea is some of the most misguided policy I've ever seen. Please snap out of it before you ruin the city that I love.

Think of the publics safety. Why not have the people pushing for this walk past a homeless campsite at night and ask whether they felt safe.

Please, please reconsider this dangerous and irresponsible program. You're letting our parks die and equally as devastating, allowing a vast number of people to languish in our city. This is our opportunity to stop and actually think about a real, effective, life saving solution for many. We implore you to not adopt this legislation which has already failed masses of people in other municipalities. Thank you.

Allowing camping in parks and greenspaces is not the way to go. Citizens and staff have spent countless hours restoring many of these spaces, and many are environmentally sensitive areas.

The homeless problem is more about lack of shelter, mental health care and priorities. Our parks are not campgrounds.

This is the dumbest "idea" I have ever heard of. Way to go Seattle...

This is the most Irresponsible thing the city could enact right now! I'll start camping everywhere so I can get a $250 a day fine sent my way!
