We need real solutions to homelessness. This will simply make more problems.

I've voted FOR PARKS for years... I did NOT vote for homeless encampments to be in those parks .
Seattle has gone nuts... what has happened to us?

Please keep our parks safe and clean, need to focus more on getting the homeless the help they need not corralling them into public places where families play

This is not a solution, this will simply compound the problem, I cannot understand how all but one council member is in support of this.

Anybody should be able to visit our Seattle parks, but no one should be able to claim part of the park as their own. Setting up a tent on park grounds is equivalent to staking a claim on that property. If I wanted to sit down on that piece of parkland, I could not do it.

Please, Please, Please, don't pass this bill. We need to help the homeless and not let them set up camp wherever they want. We need to help them get off the streets with services for drug abuse, metal illness, employment services, health issues, housing, food services, etc. We live across the street from a park and I have two young kids and I want them to be able to go outside and play in the park and not have to worry about them stepping on a hyperdermic needle and other drug paraphernalia. There are 12 young kids right on our block alone. We want them to be safe and feels safe to ride their bikes and scooters, walk, and run around. We don't want homeless people setting up tents right a cross the street from our house and piles of garbage and drug paraphernalia building up infront of our house. Please, we need to help the homeless and not let them set up tents wherever they feel like it. We aren't solving the problem of homelessness by just giving them places to set up tents. We need to help resolve homelessness by helping them get off the streets and giving them services.

Please consider the very negative impact that the ordinance you are proposing will cause to vast majority of Seattle residents.

There has to be a better solution to this very difficult problem. This has failed in other places - don't make the same mistake here. The parks are a resource to all people, and this would change that drastically.

The parks are for recreation and not for camping. We need to stop the City Council from becoming a dictatorship of our great city.

This bill is not a solution and may end up doing more harm than good for all involved.

Portland's experiment failed. And now they can't seem to undo it. Don't go there!

Council Bill 118794 is another ridiculous proposal by our city council that will be counter-productive to fixing the homeless problem, will be harmful to our city and natural resources, and is nothing short of waste and abuse of our tax dollars.
