This ordinance is ill conceived, a reckless miss use of public land, and a danger to both the sheltered and unsheltered.

We need to keep our parks clean and safe for everyone not just a select group.

This plan is simply glossing over the bigger problem of homelessness in our city. It's irresponsible.

I would hate to see our parks get trashed. I agree that homeless people need more housing, but our parks are not for that. Many homeless people struggle with mental illness and drug abuse, and having a high concentration of homeless people in parks, around our children, is the last thing we need.

This proposal is beyond belief. If it is enactrd I will never vote for another Seattle Parks levy.

What genius thought this up? It does not begin to solve the fundamental problems of homelessness, and would destroy the ecological preservation of the parks and greenbelts we have worked so hard to restore for fish and wildlife habitat. Furthermore, the sanitation, public safety issues, loss-of-use, and impacts to tourism boggle the mind.

This is disgraceful to the tax payer to keep our parks clean and safe.

Please don't turn our parks, sidewalks and public spaces into camping places. Let's deal with the causes of homelessness not waste time and money legislating how to allow MORE homelessness.

We need to keep our parks, that tax payers fund, to be clean and clear of illegal homeless camps. We cannot have this going on in a place that is supposed to be safe and enjoyable.

Parks are for all citizens of the City of Seattle, and though I am concerned about the health and well being of folks that are experiencing homelessness, we need to have a comprehensive plan to assist them, and free camping in City parks and right of ways is not a solution. Sanctioning access to parks as temporary camps will only make this problem worse and those of us who enjoy the respite of our parks will no longer feel welcome or safe to enjoy them. I didn't agree to pay more taxes to the Parks system to see it get overrun in this way. How will this be managed? How will you keep drugs and garbage out of the parks? How will it be safe for the folks who live there and for those of us who visit?

City Council has been acting irresponsibly. Taking care of special interests as we slowly damage the city more and more. Our children and parks are taking a backseat to homeless people. If UK don't want to be in a shelter you have no right to claim a park as your own.

Under no circumstances should there be camping of any sort in city parks. Taxes support all portions of each park for citizen use. No-one should monopolize locations in parks for campsites. I support Burgess on this.

Please address the homeless situation in Seattle, but not by affecting families and children that use our wonderful parks and green spaces!!! This situation needs to be addressed immediately.
