The petition should ask for way more time than this, but I digress. There are better ways to address the bigger picture. Typical of the council to only look at the short term and address it in such a sloppy way. Thank you Tim Burgess for being vocal.

Seattle should use its finite resources for moving people into permanent housing, not allowing camping indefinitely.

Stop this proposed solution. It will just proliferate into areas of unsanitary garbage and waste, and become unsafe as drugs and alcohol will propogate, and obstruction of the use of the parks as intended for the citizens of this city. It will be no better than the Jungle as there will be no regulations, self-government, or initiative to omprove one's standing in society.
Better to provide housing, mental health and treatment services then take the joy of the parks away from Seattle's public.

Please do not turn our beautiful parks into camping grounds. This is an outrageous idea!

I think that this idea is ridiculous. As s tax payer, I feel offended that I will be reluctant to walk in and enjoy our parks. I walk, at least five days a week, in one of the parks on the list. Since I usually walk alone, I wouldn't feel comfortable going. Our parks are beautiful, accessible and keep on my five mile a day routine. My health is very important to me. PLEASE rethink this. Yes, I want a solution for the homeless but feel there must be a better way to go.
Sincerely,
Judy foulks

City parks and parking strips were never intending to be used for "camping", and I absolutely do not want my hard earned tax dollars used to support this absurd idea.

The City Council needs to get practical. They must study whether their policies are attracting people into Seattle to live outdoors. Are they incentivizing homelessness?

As a parent and youth sports coach, I have witnessed the negative impact of camping encroaching into parks and playfields. Please do not allow this to expand.

This is beyond stupid. EVERYONE should have access to our park system but not be able to take advantage of it.

Our parks are to be a place to enjoy nature, and not be turned into a land fill. I drive past the trash and camps around I-5 and it is a disaster. They need to come up with a better solution...
