Portland tried this and just cancelled it, calling it a failure. We need to develop long term solutions and focus our energies on doing so.

I would like to feel safe walking, even if it's only from cab to building. Please do not pass this "stupid" law

The Seattle City Council proposal doesn't help anyone. It just makes lives harder for everyone.

This is a very bad idea. It failed miserably in Portland, so not sure why anyone thinks it could work here. It's not wise or safe.

I care for many of these patients as an Emergency Medicine physician. There is a lot of very dangerous behavior and mental health disorders associated with this demographic of people. Please expand mental health facilities and resources. Please expand substance abuse resources. Keep our parks safe for our children and families to enjoy.

Woodland Park is filling with garbage and the picnic shelters have become permanent residences. This is an improper use of these properties and the tax dollars that maintain them.

This proposal would despoil our parks and public spaces while doing little to alleviate the real needs of many of the homeless - mental health and addiction services. It is an inappropriate solution for those in need and will create additional problems for our city.

Thank you for creating this petition, we need to force the city to find a real solution to a problem they have ignored for far too long.

Please do not have this next to my children's school. It's a multifactorial problem in which there should be alternative solutions that don't involve having the encampment next to a school!

We expect our City Council to be compassionate and wise. There is no wisdom in this plan for any of the stakeholders, including our homeless.

City parks are the one respite tax-paying citizens have from the increasing noise, crowding and filth Seattle's worthless City Government is allowing in our city. I take my infant son to the parks to play and enjoy the small part of nature that survives here. How dare you try to take that from us. Think harder. Try harder. Work harder.

Our parks are for enjoying nature, not for trash and human waste. Please protect the beautiful wild areas and playgrounds in our city.

I live a block from one of the parks and we already have trash dumped from homeless that park there. They even poop in the woodchips. Daily they have volleyball games, kids playing soccer practice and family enjoying the playground with their kids. Our city parks are not a place for homeless to live. This is not the solution!

Seattle is a wealthy city. We can do better than this. We have the richest man in the world here; yet we have camping and trash on the streets. Shame on Seattle.

Seattle is a world class city and we need to solve the drug and mental health issues first and not allow camping and long term encampments in the public parks, sidewalks and high traffic areas where visitors and children are.
