If I can't park my own licensed vehicle on the street in front of my own home for more than 72 hours without being ticketed (this has happened to me), I don't see why a non-taxpayer should be able to camp on public property.

Please find a more humane and dignified way to handle this in Seattle. If the state of Utah can resolve homelessness, then so can Seattle.

I currently work in downtown Seattle where many homeless people sleep. I see needles, human waste, and used condoms daily. I am completely sympathetic to the problem of homelessness & I often give money to those in this unfortunate situation. At the same time we must consider as a community the health and safety of our children, they should absolutely be a consideration when making these decisions. Areas where children are going to school should be safe places and kids don't always have good judgement when finding small objects like used needles on the ground. Please for the sake of our children, put some responsible thought into this plan!!

This isn't fixing anything. How about you come up with something that addresses how to help the homeless instead of letting people "camp" wherever they choose.

Mayor Murray gets it wrong again. At society's expense. This 'solution' is neither safe nor sustainable.

This is a terrible idea. And it's kind of cruel. How about we DO SOMETHING to solve the problem of homelessness in Seattle?

Please consider a better solution than this that will actually help to alleviate homelessness and keep the city safe for all citizens.

Please do not ruin the few natural Greenspaces we have in Seattle. We need these areas for wildlife and our sanity.

I just moved here 4 months ago and this is totally out of control. Yes, their are people that need help, what I see is a lot of drugs and alcohol. We are here to raise our children and grandchildren to be smart, loving, kind and productive in this world. Our future generations. Not! When all they see is that we allow DRUGS & ALCOHOL on our streets, parks and schools and its ok. It's time for this great city to do something about this and save our future generations!

City Parks, Sidewalks, Parking Strips and Green Belts are not Camp Grounds.

This is a terrible idea and does not actually address the issue of homelessness. This idea FAILED in Portland, why would it work here? It wont and my family and I will feel unsafe now in parts and other public spaces because of this.

This isn't a solution to homelessness in Seattle and will only lead to more issues.

While I am in full support of helping the homeless of our city find housing solutions, camping in our public parks is not a solution.

According to the SDOT and Seattle Parks maps, sidewalks in residential neighborhoods would be available for encampments. Those sidewalks may be "adjacent" to public open space on one side, but they are also adjacent to residences on the other side of the street. The map also shows that sidewalks available for camping disproportionately impact neighborhoods that are traditionally lower income like the Central District and Beacon Hill. How does the City plan to provide sanitation, water, and security to sidewalk camps? How does this help anyone? I do not support this measure.

Allowing prolonged encampments of this kind in our public trails, parks, etc, encroaches my tax paying rights to use these same spaces as clean, safe, clear facilities.
