This will affect middle and low income residents, all tax payers, of Seattle who use the parks regularly as a safe and open area to recreate, unwind and enjoy a green landscape. For some this is the only recreation area available to their families.

Please consider alternative, real solutions. Our children play in these parks and there is a real danger of them coming into contact with materials (e.g. Drugs, syringes, etc) without understanding their dangers.

This has never been the intent of our city parks. They are for all citizens to safely enjoy. This has gotten completely out of hand.

How can this possibly solve anything except destroying seattle parks!

Please ensure that my 7-year-old daughter can enjoy the park as I did when I was a kid. I won't feel safe letting her play and explore when we are there if there are campers in the woods. Too scary!

This is not the solution! Emergency funds and more have been provided to help solve this issue and creating living spaces in public parks is NOT the answer.

This is the most outrageous idea I have ever heard of. Way to push the problem of homelessness off your desks, folks! Just double up our gorgeous parks, already paid for by taxpayers, as homeless encampments, and job done! This does NOTHING to solve the problem of homelessness or take care of homeless people! But it does tons to erode the beauty, quality, and safety of our recreational outdoor spaces which countless dollars and hours of work have gone into making what they are. Who in their right mind would ever propose such an absurd idea?? Aside from being free, what on earth does it have going for it??

Absolute nonsense.
These elected officials have a responsibility to their constituency, not the ACLU..

Utterly absurd to think something like allowing homeless to camp in parks is even a consideration. Parks are for the enjoyment of all, how is a parent going to feel safe taking a child to a park, let alone multiple children?

Providing incentive for homeless to remain homeless in seattle, or to migrate here, is not the right answer.

Parks are not the solution to homelessness. Parks are for recreation by tax paying citizens. Homelessness programs are the solution to homelessness.

The real issue here is drug abuse. Seattle is enabling addicts by letting them camp where ever. Allowing camping in City parks is unsafe for our children, an eye sore, creates destruction of the limited open space we have in the city. It is also a health Hazzard for all!
