This decision by the city does nothing to meet the very real needs of the homeless.

We need a more permanent solution. The amount of homelessness in this city is an embarassment

Stop the proposal to allow homeless encampments in Seattle parks! This does not solve the problem, and will only make the parks un useable to the citizens that pay for them!!

Of all the stupid ideas that Seattle city council cooks up to hurt our city, this is by far the worst.

The proposed legislation is just dumb. I'm an ACLU member and I regularly donate to homeless aid - but I think that allowing homeless people to camp in public parks is a very bad idea.

Preserve, not destroy, the parks. Do not pass the "homeless encampment in parks bill", please

The city needs to come up with a real solution to homelessness, not a bandaid.
Many schools share land with or are next to land belonging to the city. Excluding schools from this is not enough - people need real housing, and kids need schools free of dirty needles, excitement, and garbage. If you really want to approve this, fund a sanitation crew just for schools, because it is already needed. Everyone deserves better than this feel-good measure that does not solve the real problem and will exacerbate others.

Please find solutions that truly help those who are homeless and at the same time respect the rights of all citizens to enjoy city parks.

I don't understand why this would even be considered. It makes zero sense.

I am a seattle resident and adamantly oppose this bill. It does nothing to end homelessness or truly help the homeless and makes our city and parks less safe.

This is not the solution. We need to help people who live outside, but not create a health and sanitation hazard.

Please keep our public spaces safe and clean( hazard-free) for everyone to use, including our most vunerable citizens- our children and elderly.
