Let's think this through and not impose this madness on the vast majority of law abiding, productive tax payers and responsible citizens of Seattle. Our primary concern should be the safety of children and park users. There are far better solutions available for homeless people. Thank you

Homeless people need not be scattered all over Seattle parks and other venues. Sadly, most of the homeless are drug addicts and this can be dangerous especially for children. Something major needs to be done - drub rehab, job training, etc. Thank you.

I am a regular user of the city's parks. I would not feel safe there with homeless encampment there.

I am against allowing homeless people to live in our parks. It is a disgrace that under our current Mayor and City Council the problem only keeps getting worse!

This is stupid and irresponsible.

This is really irresponsible legislation! As the site coordinator of the P-Patch at Magnuson Park , we as a group of 200 gardeners would fear for our safety.

If they can squat anywhere on public space.... I will cease my garbage service and dump it on public spaces and parks like they do.. that's a promise...

Please protect Seattle's parks. A similar bill was a disaster in Portland--didn't Seattle's city council talk to Portland's? People without homes need real homes to live in, not tents.

Do not take up this vote. This is not the type of creative solution voters AR looking for from City Council. The plight of the homeless is an enormous challenge affecting all of us butt turning public parks into campgrounds raises a multitude of ethical and logistical consequences. Most would probably be unintended and unpredictable.

Short and sweet. I am against this. How did this even become an idea that was considered? Does anyone on this board voting live near a park or a current homeless camp? Come up with a better idea please.

I appreciate the issue but this is not the solution. I feel that this would be such a violation to my child's safety and well being in particular that I would have no choice but to vote against (and encourage everyone I know and meet to vote against) any council member that supports such a short sighted and dangerous proposition.

This is the most ridiculous idea I've ever heard!

There are much better ways to deal with our homeless situation. Young children, like my 5 year old son, should not have to be restricted from playing in an area because of the dangers these encampments present.

It is shocking that anyone could think allowing this sort of camping is a good idea. Just look at Portland, it was a disaster there and will be a disaster here. Not to mention it will ruin the parks our city has tried so hard to protect. The city council members supporting this should be replaced.

I oppose any urban camping in public parks. Our parks are our residential recreational areas for residents - individuals and families as well as our school groups and day cares centers - who use it for outings and enjoyment. It is highly inappropriate to permit any camping in our parks as it results in unsanitary and unsafe conditions for those tax paying residents who support and use our local parks. Such actions will encourage even more drug users and sellers to invade our playgrounds as has happened in Mayfair Park near my home. Kids can no longer pay there as used needles now litter the play ground. Crime, break-ins and theft in out small neighborhood has escalated exponentially.

Parks should not be used for homeless sanctuary. Let's find other solution.

All that I have met are insane or addicted. Couldn't be housed if they had $1,000,000. Homeless is they wrong word for the problem. Can't solve the problem if you don't even know what the problem is.

This is such a stupid bill. Whoever agrees with this bill must not have their neighborhood affected by this bill. Whoever agrees with this bill can host several homeless people in their own homes or donate their only money to homeless, but please don't ruin our own parks and life.
