Stop Seattle From Turning Our Parks Into Homeless Encampments

I absolutely oppose this bill as does everybody I know in North Seattle1

I oppose the bill that would allow people to camp in public parks and other spaces . That would not be any kind of solution but a sure way to create more problems . Thus diverting money that could be used to address homelessness on many fronts , to continually cleaning up and monitoring never ending encampments

Please stop the insanity re: the homeless. The amount of trash and intimidation from the homeless is taking over my neighborhood in Ballard. I have homeless men sleeping less then 10 feet away from my bedroom window -- on my private property. We need a safer solution for the homeless and the tax payers

Clearly we must work hard to house the homeless in safe sanitary housing AND have safe and sanitary parks and green space. Humans need to be treated with dignity and compassion in places where they can develop a sense of community, acceptance and belonging as well as being provided the resources and care that is necessary for them to lead healthy lives.

Please do not allow homeless to live in our parks.

Why are you enabling these street people. Get them into treatment! No EBT cards if you don't pass the urine test.

Parks are not places to "Park" a tent. They are for people to enjoy safely.

I'm against turning our parks into tent cities

This is absolutely not ok with me!!! I pay for these parks. I am not comfortable bringing my child to a place where homeless people are camping out and taking possession of public land. They will be possessive and territorial. Not to mention the human feces, garbage and drug paraphernalia that will be EVERYWHERE!!! Look at the wooded areas in Lynnwood where homeless are camping illegally. Its dangerous to go on a walk!! and a complete mess. I will be furious if I can no longer visit my favorite parks. Build basic covered shelters with designated land for them. I will help pay for that but don't ruin our parks. This is not acceptable in any way! It didn't work in Portland. Portland is an absolute MESS!

I am concerned about the safety of the kids in our neighborhood. I am interested in exploring other options to address the problem of homeless people in the city.

The situation with homeless in Seattle is totally inappropriate - unsafe and unsanitary. Our City election is coming up. We have to change the situation!

This cannot and should not pass. Our parks should be kept clean and usable as parks for our children, not be used as a home for the homeless. The homeless deserve better, and so do we.

Need long term solutions not passing the buck in short term bandaids. Resources in providing outreach and public safety will be overburdened.

You cannot allow camping in public parks. This ruins the livability of the city for current residents, tourists and everyone else. Instead of helping to solve 1 problem, it creates a bigger one.

This must be stopped!
