I have lived in Seattle my entire life--48 years--and have seen my beloved "Emerald City" taken over by the homeless population and a city council who does not speak for the people who elected them.

This is the best the city council could up with? This is not right! I strongly oppose this myopic bill!

Homeless encampments in public parks are not the right solution. We need to focus time and funding on keeping people in their homes, and transitional housing combined with treatment services!

I am dumbfounded at the stupidity of this plan. It must be stopped.

The public pays for these spaces with our taxes & laws regarding them should be obeyed, not ignored. No camping in the parks!

It would be hard to imagine anyone with two or more brain cells supporting this proposed "solution" for the homeless problem.

Allowing camping in public spaces especially parks where children play is a TERRIBLE idea. Please reconsider the implications of allowing that to happen.

This would be terrible for our city. We need mental health care, job training and addiction services.

Not the solution. Where are our kids suppose to be free and play without being harassed by someone squatting and putting our health in jeopardy.

It is peturbing that while I put in 50+ hours a week of work just to afford my place and lifestyle in the U district that you want to see the homeless get free reign of our city. I strive to one day have a view of green lake from my future home yet you plan to allow the mentally ill & drug addicted homeless to have it for free. I am a sympathetic & caring individual, but this is too far. In addition you must have a better plan on how to "evict" these people from public locations. Make the right move & protect taxpayers safety, property, rights & quality of life.

Please do not vote to allow camping on our parks and public spaces. As Danny Westneat pointed out, it does not address the underlying issue of homelessness.

I am adamantly against allowing homeless people to camp in any city park. The safety of our children and tax paying adults must take priority over those who are trashing our city with feces, garbage, needles etc. Those who will accept help have places to go. The rest should not take away the beautiful parks from the rest of us.
