Although it is important for the city council to get the input of advocacy groups, wholly abdicate responsibility for creating legislation to a narrow advocacy group as seems to have been done here is irresponsible no matter how well intentioned.
Please withdrawal Bill 118794 and take advantage of both the great resources and ideas that come from properly engaging your fellow Seattleites?

I'm disappointed in our city for presenting this as a solution. With Housing First models showing success over the past several years in Utah especially, Seattle needs to jump in head first with Housing First instead of dipping their toes in the pool by providing minimal funding to a program that is actually getting people off of the streets!

Look at the examples of San Francisco and Portland. IT NEVER ENDS! The "War on Poverty" has only made people more dependent and less able to care for themselves.

This has to be stopped. It is a terrible band aid for a growing problem. Use the tax money to provide more systemic solutions i.e. Provide housing, help get them jobs, mental health. Do not use it to encourage more encampments and make the city worse

The city needs to take responsible actions to help the homeless of our city. And changing laws that dump the homeless problem ON OUR CHILDREN IN THEIR PARKS THAT THEY PLAY IN, IS ABSOLUTELY SHAMEFUL OF OUR CITY LEADERS TO DO. You need to help our homeless with more shelters or tent cities. You are making the city unsafe for my children to play and it is disturbing.

This is not a responsible solution to a legitimate problem. It solves nothing while creating more problems.

Parks need to be off-limits entirely. We voted on a huge levy not long ago to improve the parks and homeless encampments are contrary to that.

The city cannot put our youth at risk. Our kids have a hard enough time finding safe places to play and exercise. Please don't allow the parks and etc to be taken away.

As a grandmother with 4 granddaughters I am fearful of this legislation as written and completely agree with Tim Burgess on all points.

I am opposed to this bill because it will result in an exponential increase in unregulated and unmanageable campsites throughout Seattle's parks and public spaces, with all of the accompanying problems.

This is a terrible idea that will ruin our parks. As a taxpayer I believe this is not where my money should be going. Parks should be for recreation not homeless shelters. Please put our tax dollars to work in the way they were intended.
