Stop Seattle From Turning Our Parks Into Homeless Encampments

I am firmly against any homeless encampments.

I have sent an email dated 10/6 to all members of the city council outlining my opposition to this bill.

Please do not allow camping on ANY public lands.

This is not a solution to homelessness here in Seattle. We need to provide permanent housing and not camping out!

Parks are not meant for homeless housing.

Woodland park is where Specialized Programs holds weekly summer camp for disabled kids 4-21 all summer. Camp Long has overnight camp for disabled. Uphold your obligations first!

I'm signing this because of the haste that has been applied to this issue. Don't just pass the buck down to our parks. They are already underfunded and our youth do not need to be a product of our city's inability to come up with a valid game plan on this issue.

Please do NOT pass this proposal. My husband and I have lived in Seattle for nearly 20 years and now have 2 young children. We are aware that the homelessness problem in Seattle has reached epic proportions, and something needs to be done for those in need. However, this measure is not the solution. We and our children use the parks every day. Often people who are chronically homeless have mental health and drug addiction issues. This creates a safety hazard in public parks for everyone else who uses them. Please, please do not support this proposal.

PLEASE don't give more of our beautiful city over to the growing tide of human trash and vagrancy!

I'm a liberal democrat, but this is ridiculous. Whom do you represent? I'm so dismayed that this is even being considered that I am voting Republican from the Mayor -all the way down the ticket. Never thought I'd ever say that!

Failed in Portland. No reason it won't here. Tired of the kids dodging human waste and needles on the sidewalks on the WAY to the parks, no need for it in the parks in addition to this. Stop the insanity.

Enough. Seattle is a slum. In early 2000 when my daughter first moved here it was nice. Now it is a frigging filthy slum. Almost every exit ramp has homeless camps, even right next to that precious Seahawks stadium. Now R'S even park on Bellevue city street without anyone moving them along. I live near a church and I am terrified they will set up camp there, close to where my grand daughter plays.
