This censorship promotes an environment where it's ok to push the oppression and dehumanization of millions of people to the side lines. It invalidates the work of those who participate in the BLM movement. In addition, it invalidates the experiences of so many people by telling them Heritage High School does not care enough about the mass incarceration, murder, poverty, etc of black people. Think about the type of message this is sending to students; to be complacent and tolerant of their own oppression and the oppression of others.

I had mr rust for a summer school teacher this year and he's pretty cool. I feel that it shouldn't make a person uncomfortable to see a "movement" poster anywhere ! People need to know and influence others to help spread the word.

It's ridiculous, they want to censor everything that goes on in our lives. If they think we don't already know about yhis then they're crazy. It's on the news people, what're they gonna do next? Make it so we can't watch the news? Hello reality check, there's something called the Internet. Mr. Rust isn't doing anything wrong, he's making us think, unlike every other teacher at that school. His debates are amazing during class and the school is so wrong for doing this.

This is in total violation of his second amendment rights. Those posters are today's history, and should be looked at.

I am very discussed these are even being allowed to be posted on a school campus and nothing is being done to have these taken down. I know that only the black lives matters and the Martin Luther King poster was there alone before the blue lives matters was given to him to post. The teacher didn't like having to post the blue lives matter but with resistance he did. It's sickens me to know he can influence these children this way. I will stand behind these being taken down immediately.

I may not be a very strong supporter of the movement itself. But it's wrong to censor what the students have to say

Mr.Rust is the only teacher who taught me anything at HHS. Those posters are there to stimulate debate and discussion. Removing those posters is an injustice in too many ways to explain. But those posters are there to stimulate debate and conversation. If you you have such little faith and confidence in your students maybe admin should reassign themselves to a different job at a prison. Let the student be free to think! Let them conversate with one another!

Mr. Rust consistently promotes free thought and presents each side of every story; his posters are a beautiful extension of this. Banning Mr. Rust's posters is in direct violation of the freedom of speech, as no direct threat stems from these posters and no harm to the learning environment is made. The banning of these posters is a direct act by Heritage High School administration to shield their students in ignorance of the monumental changes occurring in our society, when, actually, the aims of a school should be to bring their students to embrace the errors of their society and to act to change them, to create a better world for themselves, for the future.

The posters should not have offended anyone, not with good reason at least. If the teachers are expressing how they feel about the situation, it shouldn't be a bad thing.
