This probably isn't something admin would want in this school's...heritage. Jokes aside our society is full of people who are too scared to see/hear views that don't agree with theirs, this only enables our society to keep degrading and keep regressing from all the progress we have made.

Mr. Rust is a US history teacher. The Black/Blue lives matter movement is apart of current US history. The conception of our glorious country was founded on "uncomfortable", "hard to swallow" ideals. So why is it that we are now afraid to make people feel uncomfortable now? All of Rust's posters tell both sides of a conflicting story; a story that starts a conversation.

"Remove your posters that do no harm and present issues that students will have to deal with both now and in the future - it may make them uncomfortable." essentially translates to "Ignorance is bliss. Keep it that way." The fact that a high school is enforcing this idea should make people more uncomfortable than any poster he has on his wall.

This shouldn't be a problem.

I stand for freedom of speech even with the knowledge of social contract. However, it's best to discuss these things in a learning environment rather than on a street were guns could be in possession. Don't know who will read this but if they need any speakers for an event I'll be more than glad to speak

School is a place to learn and grow, and censoring real life struggles and important movements does the exact opposite. Students are not children, students are the shapers of tomorrow and we deserve to voice our opinons, it's how we learn what textbooks alone cannot teach. These posters will spark conversation, opinions, free thought-something that will benefit everyone; it's a non-violent form of expression that opens students up to the world outside campus walls. I completely understand the concern, but protection and censorship are not synonyms. How does one expect a plant to prosper if it's blocked from the sun?

Mr. Rust is an amazing teacher and is not using these posters to push his views upon anyone, he merely wants kids to be curious and ask questions and the best way to do that these days is to show them visuals that intrigue them. He has various types of posters in his classroom that give representation to many many different views and beliefs and he uses them to get people to be objective and view their world in a fair and balanced way.

A school is a learning environment, there should be learning not only of general subjects but of the current events in our own country. Scilencing a teacher and students for their own beliefs and stance is unacceptable.

I will sign this bc this is an absolute outrage and a teacher should be allowed to keep posters up that show support.

As a student and mock trial member guided by Mr. Rust, I can say with certainty that he only cares for the intellectual prosperity of our students. In no way do his posters demonstrate a threat to that prosperity.
