As a Governing Board President of a public school district working hard on equity issues to close achievement gaps, I strongly urge that this NOT go through.

This absurd proposed legislation would prevent accurate social studies and related education. Teaching critical thinking and more, not less, inclusive content and penalizing critical educators should not become law.

This is a "perception is reality" approach to changing historical facts, and it is an effort to deny the truth.

This bill is unconscionable at any time, and incredibly misinformed during a teacher shortage. With all of the things that a teacher is asked to do at the pay they are asked to do it for, why would anyone add the Sword of Damocles to the mix? It almost seems like a new tactic to destroy public education; this time by driving all of the teachers either out of the profession or out of the State.

Students must be taught how to think; to be able to analyze, interpret, and evaluate sources, to learn from multiple perspectives, to discern the credibility of a source. These are crucial skills of a citizen in a democracy.

Teachers already know that they are not to provide their personal political opinions in the classroom. That is enough. We don’t need an intimidating law that will keep people from entering the teaching field. This is overkill and ridiculous.

I am outraged by this bill! I, for one, want educated people to have learned critical thinking skills above all else in our schools.

I implore Gov. Ducey to veto/stop this bill as well as our legislators.
We are one of the worst states for education and now you think we should not teach facts? I am a retired educator and I find SB1532 disgusting, deplorable and out of touch with reality!
Look at the state standards -we are required to teach the truth and more importantly educate our kids to be informed.
If this bill goes into effect I can assure you we will lose great teachers & hurt our children.
Do the right thing, please!

Schools have always been under local control do they can respond to the unique needs of their community. This usurps local control and undermines educators. This is unnecessary big government.

Conspiracy theories are fine for web articles, they have no business being part of school curriculum.
